The Halos still have some interesting arms kicking around in extended spring training — Josh Blanco and Baudilio Lopez are the young guns, but they have Pioneer alum Stephen Locke, Carson Andrew, and Jonathan Garrett as well — so Pena’s promotion is an indication that the Halos’ brass thinks pretty highly of him.

I personally don’t give a flying F how much a player is getting paid. If he’s slumping or underperforming, then sit his ass down and let our young guys have a shot.
