Hernandez? He wont be in the starting X1
The onus that is on him is insane. Median? I’m dubious about him being in the XI as well.

Hah, seriously I expect a round of 16 trip at the very least.
the Argentina loss back in ’06 still hurts. It was one hell of a goal though.

Yup, Maxi Rodriguez.
Best goal of the tournament if I recall.

Ahh, the old hope vs expectation conundrum...
…suspect we’ll be revisiting this in a couple of weeks.

I suspect...
Both squads got blessed with a great draw.

2 strikes, cupie.
This is neither Angels related, nor 75 words. Really, I just hate soccer.
I'm wearing a "Markas" patch on my sleeve this season.
You too.
I purposely avoided this thread because I thought I’d be the only one to point out the fact that soccer(or futbol) sucks. Not that I’m a xenophobe, but if it comes down to Portugal or Mozambique for the worlds best, does it matter?
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Amen brother.
Soccer = yawn. It’s a 3rd world sport. There, I said it.

Maybe you meant to say "3rd-tier sport in the U.S."...
…because everywhere else in the world (that’s 1st through 3rd worlds) soccer is the only sport that matters.
You can still yawn, of course. We both know people who think baseball is boring, too.
+1
and some think basketball is boring. To each his own.

I love how the field is fairly open this time
There’s no clear-cut favorite: Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, Italy all have legit shots, as well as the wild cards. This time my favorite wild-card pick will be Ivory Coast.
The only time I will root for Drogba.
When he plays for the national squad.
Captain, there are doubt's...
Holland=dark horse

What do you expect from a bunch of crazy dutch bastards?
Angels baseball. We do what we must, because we can -- HaloDutch
Italy haven't got a prayer...
…Portugal will struggle to get through the group, frankly they were pretty lucky to qualify, and Germany need to work out what they’re going to do about that Ballack sized hole in midfield.
It’ll be Spain or Brazil. Probably Brazil – European teams never (ever) win outside of Europe.
