Jered Weaver took a no-hitter into the 7th inning, struck out 7 Mariners and got offensive support from a bases-clearing double by Kendry Morales, a two run homer by Juan Rivera and solo homers by Howie Kendrick and Ryan Budde. The Angels bats chased Cy Young bridesmaid Felix Hernandez in the 4th.

After a long road losing streak the Angels looked like superstars against a once great monster pitcher early and often. Weaver meanwhile walked three, the first baserunner being a BB to former Angel Chone Figgins in the 4th - Figgy was left stranded on second as a prelude to the Mariners being stranded in last place in the AL West. It was the first Angels win in the month of May after consecutive road sweeps at the bats and gloves of the Tigers and the RedChix.
