But I thought Ryan was already on the 40 man so then there wouldn't be anyone to put on assignment since we had palmer go down they just switch spots

Gotta be honest, his numbers look fantastic....
Sort of like a Freddy Sanchez type of player. What was it, a couple years ago when Baseball America said he’d make a solid #2 hitter……

I wonder if the organization has lost faith in Wood...
Maicer’s too hurt, I get that,so you’d think Wood would play everyday. Nope. We sign Frandsen and within a week promote him and start him at 3B. We also have Michael Ryan and (smirk) Rob…(holding back smile)…Quinlan (burst out in laughter) to possibly play 3B.
I wonder if Wood’s not showing any signs of pulling out.

On Apirl 29 he was waived by the Red Sox and now a couple weeks later he is playing for us in the Majors from AA to AAA to majors in 2 weeks

Given that he spent five seasons in AAA, and nearly a full season with the Giants...
…he’s probably just glad to be with an MLB club again.
He was very much in the Giants’ plans until he ruptured his achilles and missed all of 2008. He had very solid MiLB numbers for a middle infielder.

I watch a fair amount of Giants games and know way too many Giants fans.
The verdict on Frandsen from the Giants faithful is that he’s a decent hitter, subpar defender.
One avid fan said he’s been “mental” since the achilles injury. Lost his mojo.
Maybe the change of scenery with the Angels will be good for him. At this point I’ll take any 3rd baseman that doesn’t K every 3 AB’s.
