With the Angels and the city of Anaheim working together well on the All Star Game, will the city of Anaheim soon be relinquishing their claims to the contractually obligated "of Anaheim" appendage in the team name?
A rumor spreading around town is that the Angels will be trading the city the stadium naming rights in order to dump the appendage off of the team's name. Instead of "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim playing at Angels Stadium of Anaheim" it will be "The Los Angeles Angels playing at Anaheim Stadium" ... can the Carpino regime finally triumph?
Word is it will happen in time for the city to receive the benefit of ANAHEIM STADIUM being blasted all about the universe during the All Star Game. Stay tuned.
