Angels Take First Place With Sixth Straight Road Win
Final Score in Oakland: Angels 4, A's 2... Bobby Abreu homered in the first inning, Scott Kazmir pitched into the seventh inning and the Angels won their sixth straight game, taking over first place in the American League West in the process.
The win was the 6th straight road win and 9th victory in their past ten games for the once-struggling squad. Erick Aybar returned to the leadoff spot and hit a run scoring triple to deep center right "Amezaga" territory in Oakland's spacious (add name of sucker sponsor) Coliseum. He scored on a Howie Kendrick single up the middle.
After 4 hits yesterday, Erick Aybar was on base twice tonight and stole a base. Announcer Jose "Drive the Ball" Mota credited not Aybar, but Maicer Izturis (currently day-to-day with a tight hamstring) for Aybar's hot hitting. Why? Oh who the heck knows, it was the first thing that popped into Mota's cabeza. Catcher Bobby Wilson scored on Aybar's triple after hitting a two out double off of Oakland SP Ben Sheets in the 5th inning.

FIRST!
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

have to admit, Kaz looked good tonight...
I was fearful that the Zep song of the night would be “When the Levee Breaks” and instead the Good Kaz shows up. Panther pitching tonight.
Feels good to be back on top of the division
Hopefully now we stay on top.

Whelp, it's June, the Angels are back in first place, and all is well with the world.
Except for Morales. That kinda sucked.

How Sweet It Is
First place on June 7th. This team amazes me after the start that they had. Beautiful thing indeed. Makes my Coors Light taste like a real beer. GO HALOS!!

I'm hoping for Angels - Braves this October
Or the always desired Angels – Dodgers.

oh joy
no….seriously, very cool to finally claw our way to the top of this bandini mountain of a division. But until we take care of beating the Rangers, it doesn’t mean shizzle.
When I'm not at the stadium, I'd rather be watching my Halos back in Costa Rica!
I dig the optimism
Ooh yeah! We will overcome…

Bandini...
The “Bandolero.” Fr8’s Fr8’s Fr8’s…good times!
If ain't nothing wrong, something just ain't right.
Don't Tell me ....
Bandini Mountain is no more?
Next you will be telling me that cows don’t produce fertillizer.
Bandini went out of business
a few years ago. I’m pretty sure the mountain is gone.
I’m pretty sure cows still do what cows do.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
But I thought Bandini was the word for... fertilizer!

Haha! I had forgotten that ad.
I loved their ads, the woman with the deep, sexy voice, the general silliness. It was all good.

Favorite play tonight:
Nap snagging that pop up whilst tumbling on his keyster in the 9th.
Comical, but nice……
His other little adventure was the high toss to Kaz
which Scott couldn’t quite come up with.
All food for Soth thinking: “Q starts tomorrow…”
Ha. He IS on the small side
Nap got the error, but Kaz took his eye off the ball looking for the bag
Kaz looked good tonight
nice scrap-it-out kind of win, as there wasnt too much offense to enjoy. aybar looks like he’s heating up, very good sign.
IT COULD HAPPEN

Still a long way to go
But after all this team has been through, to be in first place again.
That’s awesome.
No Fuentes love in the Panther poll?

Good Game...
Made the drive, got a ball from Butcher, and a TV appearance wearing my Angels Jersey on the Jake Fox homer. Hopefully I bring the same luck tomorrow.
Can't hate the game gotta love it man.
aghhh back to normal :)
Los Angeles Angels 32 28 .533 0 Won 6
Texas Rangers 30 27 .526 0.5 Lost 2
Oakland Athletics 30 29 .508 1.5 Lost 1
Seattle Mariners 23-34 .403 7.5 Won 1
Interesting
Through 60 games in 2009: 31-29, 3.5 Games Out
Through 60 games in 2010: 32-28, First Place
nice find, sir.

Radio Broadcast
Terry Smith mentioned it late in the game. But it helps put things in perspective. Remembering what happened last year – all of it – has kept me sane over the first couple of months of the season. Just 10 days ago, I was telling a colleague at work that I was not at all worried about the season. The Mariners are done, again, already. Oakland is starting to fade. And Texas still has to play in the month of August. The A’s and Rangers have some good young pieces, but they’re both still a year or two away, IMHO, from being able to sustain it for an entire season.
And neither the A's or the Rangers have the luminous resistance power that is the Soth.
I'm not as bad as all of you.
This is true
The Angels have undeniably the best manager in the AL West.
"Just another Halo victory" - Rory Markas
Huh.
Better than that, I think.
Did you see his smile after the last out last night? It didn’t last long but it was a big grin. Yeah, he doesn’t care what place they’re in.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
I'm waiting
for them to play a good team before I decide whether this is real or not. I know we’re all anxious to shout “they’re back”, but let’s wait for them to play a playoff bound team…But of course on the internet those using logic get shot down for being pessimistic.
We're only getting our due with an opportunity to school these fools...
…we still have the toughest strength of schedule so far this year of any team in the majors
Personally, I believe this is just the start. If they continue to at least approach their potential, as individuals, and as a team, we could put this lot in the rear view mirror in a hurry.
I see red people
