Kohn Up, Bell Down
MLB's official transactions confirm that the Angels have optioned RHP Trevor Bell to AAA Salt Lake in exchange for RHP Michael Kohn. You may know him as the "bullpen savior," but keep your heads screwed on. This time last year, Kohn was pitching in Cedar Rapids, and his walk rate has jumped significantly every time he's been promoted. Still, the 13.6 K/9 in 135 minor league innings is exciting. His minor league stats are here. He's probably not ready, but he's going to be fun to watch.

Ahh.. That's what that open spot on the 40-man roster
was for.

His BB/9 is not very sexy at all

True. He'll fit right in

Scioscia likes to start his rookies in mop up roles
Let’s hope he’s not needed for a week or so. Unless he’s finishing up a 10-2 Halo victory.

Where's William Shatner when you need him....
KOHN!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Bell down..
So there’s no fifth starter at the moment. Skip that starter slot next time it comes around and then… The next episode of the Kazmir Chronicles.

Kohn, Kohn, hmmmm...nope, don't think I've read about him here
Is he some sort of well-kept secret? Why hasn’t anyone posted anything about him before?

Wait, so who the fuck in our fifth starter?
TOO MANY ROSTER MOVES! I DONT KNOW MY TEAM ANYMORE!!!!!
okay, that might have been a bit of an overreaction but seriously, whose the fifth? Isn’t Kaz still not ready to pitch.

Good, rational move.
Now, if we would just trade Matsui for a couple fringe prospects to a contending team that needs a left-handed power bat off the bench, and call up Bourjos, we could have some fun.
I want to see athleticism in the outfield. Until then, the games are still tough to watch.
True
Control was awful and his best fastball was about 93. After all the hype, my reaction to seeing him was “That’s it?”

Didn't quite scream "future closer"
He looked more or less like a lot of our young relievers of late: smallish, right-handed, decent but erratic fastball, and no real breaking pitch. He is young, so I guess we should just chock this up to getting his feet wet.
He got up to 95...
and he changes speeds nicely going from that fastball down to the low 80’s on his off-speed pitch.
But yeah the results were not wonderful.
Watching this team lately is the sole reason I have a spastic colon.
The fact that I’m 41 and eat like a Himalayan mountain goat is only coincidental.
Any little (or big) move this team makes that I try and hang my hat on and turn into a positive this season blows up and leaves warts behind.
I cannot recall any Angel team in recent memory that seemingly had less heart and fire. We’ve had some real shitty teams but at least they scrapped and you never felt so disgusted after a loss.
Give me the Erstys and Ecks and I’ll watch us go 0-for-X the rest of the season in perfect bliss.
Bah!
Isn't he Bart's less-famous brother?

Looked more off-balance than Frankie Rodriguez...
I swore that dude was going to be eating dirt shortly after releasing the ball.
I love this team.
