Acquiring Haren was a coup. Acquiring Callaspo was a shrewd move with potentially long term benefit, BUT... This stuff has consequences. Like journeyman Vogelsong now just an injury or two away from starting for our Angels. Vogelsong had a solid 2005 season with the Pirates as a middle reliever and swingman, but stunk up something awful in 2006 and pitched the next three years in Japan. He received an invite to spring training with the Phillies this season, didn't make the club, but missed a lot of bats for their AAA affiliate through June before getting the axe. The K's point to good stuff, but he'll have to do a better job finding the strikezone if he's going to help the Bees bust out of their rut of mediocrity.
