Go snakes.
Despite having being terribly run as an organization, and the presence of Stephen Drew, I will root for you.
Every fifth day.
Rory Markas. Alex Chilton. 2010, you suck!
Go DBacks!
Justin Upton was one of the nicest rookies I have ever met. Was extremely impressed with the guy when I met him in ST a few years back.
The Devil went down to Georgia, and all I got was this gold fiddle. Go Angels! helpfindscottajob@gmail.com
Go Saunders!
I feel like I didn’t appreciate him enough while he was here.

my thoughts exactly
How a guy with that much athletic ability can play a ball like that…. I’ll never know
did you get a pic with his new number?
Thank you, Nick Adenhart. You will always be remembered. #34

I swear
A lot of the times when players attempt to do a double play, the second baseman looks like they don’t step on the base…
I was just about to say that...

And, of course, the inimitable Billy Ray “RoJo” Johnson

Yep, it’s a tough League.

Saunders hitting 93.....
anyone that ever said he was a finesse pitcher can STFU
What would happen if Joe Saunders
out pitches Haren this year……….
think Tony would lose his job?
What exactly are you on?
Of course not! You have to give up something to get something—and as much as I love Joe, Haren is an upgrade over Joe in the longterm no matter which way you slice it.
Light up that halo! RIP, Nick.
Of course, though, Baseball Prospectus will find a way to now say that Dan Haren is awful, despite comparing him to Clemens earlier this year, now that he's on the Angels, who they hate.
Or at least massively dislike.
Light up that halo! RIP, Nick.
Yeah, "college of the desert" is going to be typed here soon...
other than in my comment.
I love this team.

Is this what our season has become?
Longing for National League players of yesteryear?
I've got nothing.

The offense behind him has 1 hit through 3. Should look kinda familiar.

Yup. Home cookin’.

It's touching that the Diamondbacks went to all this effort to make Saunders feel comfortable.
Lackluster defense, no hitting and bad baserunning decisions
Luis Gonzalez guessed Juan Pierre as an answer to "What 3 players have 100+ homeruns with 3 teams?"

I know I know I know
Haren is a better pitcher than Saunders.
But in talking about Haren’s past, I hope you guys know that by pitching in the NL West…..
9 of his 33 starts last year were against teams with no better than the 26th offense in MLB last year.
14 of his 33 starts were against teams with no better than the 23rd offense in MLB last year.
We also realize that he was pretty dominant in the AL, too.
Nice try.
Light up that halo! RIP, Nick.
yea that was in 2007
he was dominant. ERA + of 138
Saunders had an ERA + of 131 in 2008.
but I'm not trying to compare Saunders/Haren
as just say… I hope no one is expecting some ERA in the low 3’s from Haren.
This season? You're right, he most likely won't have an ERA in the low 3's.
I don’t see any reason he can’t have low 3 ERAs in the rest of his time here though.
because he only had ONE season of his ERA being in the low 3's in the AL
and that was 3 years ago. His other 2 seasons of having an ERA in the low 3’s were in the NL where as I showed, at least last year he not only got to face pitchers, but a bunch of lousy offensive teams.
and saunders got to face the a's and mariners
Somewhere, right now, Mickey Hatcher is ruining a swing.

The A's had an ABOVE AVERAGE
offense in MLB in that they were 14th in runs scored. Do you see what a HUGE gap in ERA there is between the two leagues because of the DH. I agree the A’s have had a lousy offense, and the M’s a craptastic one but compared to the run production of the NL teams, for the most part, the weak teams that Joe faced scored significantly more runs than the weak teams Haren faced.
You saw him strike out 8 Red Sox in 4 2/3 innings the other night, right?
He also walked nobody. The man has skill. His ERA will be higher in the American League, but that should be compensated for with better run support. Well, maybe he’ll get run support next year.
yea I think he'll strikeout a lot of guys. He has a great splitter and great fastball command
so he’ll even get a lot of K’s looking. But did you not see a lot of hard hit balls off of him, against a team that sans Rodney and Kohn in the 3 game stretch we held down pretty well.
He got hit hard
when he was pitching NL style with fastball after fastball. All of the HRs against him were on fastballs. Haren made the adjustment of throwing his curve and split after the HRs.
so he was in a league
where all you have to do is throw fastballs to get people out, and you get to face the pitcher instead of someone’s job it is to ONLY hit, and his ERA was well over 4????, which is pretty much exactly what Saunders was doing who doesn’t pitch in the fastball only league and actually has to face DH’s……
man talk about unlucky……. dude should have gone to Vegas with me so I just could have made the exact opposite bet of him.
Unbelievable, the snakes are even more inept at fielding than we are
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
who would’ve thought
we would find a team with a worse defense than us? How’s their offense and bullpen?
Sosh is on the phone right now, ringing up the D'Backs dugout...

Looks like Saunders is done.

I thought Saunders did a very good job in his debut. I was impressed.
I really hope this trade works out for both teams. Haren is a good one (as I can tell that Saunders is). I may have missed this somewhere, but is Saunders taking #34 a tribute to Adenhart? I would assume so. Do you guys mind if I drop by for Haren starts?
(and no I am not a Yankees fan, even though my sister has a Yankees hat on).
Nice strikeout!
Nice job Joe........
quality start.
