They give up two AA pitchers. One of whom is on the DL recovering from Tommy John Surgery. Marlins look to be paying most of his salary.

When he’s good, he’s good. He’s cooled off since May though, and I’m glad the Marlins got some prospects from the Rangers for a guy who would’ve left anyway.

Cantu’s not gonna make the Rangers that much better, and he’ll probably leave after the season anyway.

Just look at the facts folks. The Rangers are a one trick team, they’re going all in this year and have sacrificed their future for it.

Players they’ve lost and/or will lose at season’s end.

Cliff Lee, Vlad Guerrero, Frank Francisco, Jorge Cantu, Justin Smoak, Bengie Molina, Rich Harden, Pitching Prospects: Blake Beaven, Josh Lueke, Evan Reed, Omar Poveda.

Good chance Vlad will be back

I don’t see why either side would deny his option.

The Rangers will still be pretty good next year, it’s just that we’re likely to be about as good as we were in 2009 and were supposed to be this year thanks in large part to the return of Kendry and the addition of Haren.

IF they can afford Vlad, nothing suggests they can.

Even if they are bought by the parent company Ryan controls, they will be strapped for chas, in the same manner that the Padres are right now.

Cuban buys the team and quickly signs free agents Carl Crawford, Cliff Lee & Jason Werth, all while making blockbuster trades for Albert Pujols, Mariano Rivera and Hanley Ramirez.

as much as I don’t want Nolan Ryan to own the team, I’m not sure I want Cuban to own it either. his passion for having competitive teams means the Halso will have that much more of a difficult path to the postseason and a world championship.

is there any way the McCourts can just buy it?
