Q & SOS to AAA: McAnulty & Aldridge Up
LA Angels Insider reports that Robb Quinlan and Sean O'Sullivan have been sent down to AAA Salt Lake and that Corey Aldridge and Paul McAnulty have been called up to the Angels.
McAnulty, a one-time Padre, will make his American league debut tonight as the DH, batting 7th.
UPDATE: ~MMP~ had this up a half hour ago. Still no word on corresponding 40-Man roster moves.

Question....
Anyone know if Scioscia blew up at the guys last night? The offensive output was just plain sorry. I picture it going something like this:
“If you guys aren’t gonna hit the ball I’ll f***in’ find someone who will”
Gets on the horn with Reagins and says “Give me Aldridge, give me McAnulty, I want them in the clubhouse in uniform, in the lineup tomorrow night.”
Reagins responds with “who do we send down? We need t make room on the 40.”
Scioscia “I don’t care just make it happen.”
We betrayed Vlad, the greatest Angel. Epic fail.
I dont' think this is McAnulty's Major League Debut
He played with the Padres for a bit
I watched him play for the Pods...
He was a good 30 pounds lighter and wasn’t bad. His stats didn’t look great but he wasn’t lost at all. He certainly seems like a better offensive option for the lineup than Reggie Willits right now.

Is Juan Rivera headed to the DL soon
Or is he making a decent recovery?

LAT blog suggests he should be back early next week
Probably Monday, his vision is back to 20/20 again.

No Problem, it happens to the best of us
I was just curious because of the outfielders being called up.

Actually quite the contrary
If we were waving the white flag, we would’ve brought up prospects to give them experience before their major league season in 2011.
We definitely would not have brought up two 30 year old players, unless we wanted a quick fix in our offense. McAnulty and Aldridge are experienced utility guys that, although haven’t shown much of anything in the majors, could provide a little help here and there, while we deal with injuries (Juan Rivera and Freddy Sandoval).
I definitely would not think the season is over when we’re only 3.5 games back (4.5 games back yesterday) and we’re just reaching the halfway mark.

actually this was game 2 of the Angels’ second half, so far 1-1. 49 more wins and I think we are crowned AL West Champs yet again.
They want power. We want respect...

At Matsuiland
the bumper cars don’t hit very hard and Autopia pulls to the right.
I thought that was going to be like a
“In Soviet Russia, food eats you!” But then it started to make sense, and I realized it wasn’t the joke.
WTY's ERA+ = 152 : - ) -- Kevin Frandsen > Brandon Wood??????
