Maybe there are a few of you out there who, like me, enjoy quality audio (never mind the cheap center channel, it's the only piece of junk in my setup).
This is an instance where ESPN and their Dolby Digital 5.1 audio clearly trumps the 2ch that Fox Sports is pumping out.
If you can't enlarge, the status box on the OSD reads "3/2 + LFE." FSW only puts out 2ch PCM, and even PLIIx can't make it sound good...
Agreed: DD 5.1 Jon Miller and Joe Morgans.

if the announcers only come out of the center channel...
then I could see the usefullness of this by turning the center channel off, and getting rid of the announcers altogether and just listen to the game sounds.
I am fan various years ago.
but where oh where
would that leave the Hyundai gamecast of the cast or whatever the frack they call it….
Nice set up.
Have you seen the shit they have on the Blu-Ray forums? Shit’s nice.
They want power. We want respect...
thank you
the only forum I follow is from the brand of my Pre/Pro and separate amp—Emotiva. The rumor is that they make the goods for Sunfire Audio and Sherbourne. Actually, damn good evidence supports it.
My receiver has Dolby True HD and DTS HD-MA and its sound reproduction and sound stage is incredible. I’ve had it since April, coming from Pioneer Elite AV receiver. The amp is a true 200×5. My mains are a pair of vintage ESS AMT Monitor’s with the ribbon midrange tweeter patented after Dr. Oskar Heil, and the surrounds are same brand, lesser model. ESS is/was a California brand that was big in the 70’s. My sub is from Hsu research of Anaheim.
Bought all of that (as well as the Oppo BDP83 and the Panny TCP50V10) with some Army backpay. Unfortunately, ran out of money before I could get a decent center channel…

Home Theater FTW. If only I had the fresh monies to spend on equipment, such as yours. Your cables look pretty neat or are they hidden underneath the picture?

the plan
when I get a real center channel, I’ll horizontally mount on a shelf under the plasma to hide the power cord. pictured, but hard to see: the RF adapter for my NES, SMS, and Genesis (SNES is A/V). All of the other cords are easy—they just fall behind the receiver and amp, out of view. for the speaker cables, I got some of that white PVC-like stuff that stickies to the baseboards, though when I had carpet, I used a plumbing “snake” tool to run the cables under the carpet.
as a veteran and journalism student (and with two youngins), I have no fresh monies either. none of that was possible w/o a nice chunk of Army monies that recently came my way.

My suround sound often scares the hell out of me...
makes me feel like Chris Tucker in the chicken coop.
If ain't nothing wrong, something just ain't right.
DTS HD Master Audio
is a win beyond compare. my dog shakes and cries when she hears the bass. I’ve actually broken a glass bowl from a Ligeti piano piece…
