I saw this little diddy over at the Fan Forum of the LA Times http://bit.ly/ajha5J. In it Mr. Girardi, our beloved All-Star manager, claims the reason he chose CC over Weaver was because the Angels play in the weaker division. But, a little glance (and it doesn't take much of one) shows CC has actually had the far weaker schedule and that pin-stripped idiot should be eating his words (and maybe some of CC's lunch to help the boy shed a few pounds)
Let us consider this then, of (what I count) Weaver's 18 starts, 6 are against divisional foes, including power hitting first place Texas twice.
As for CC, he has pitched against the AL West four times and is 3-1 in those games, including his last two starts against the division's bottom feeders Oakland and Seattle, respectively.
And speaking of "weak" divisions. CC has pitched and won FOUR decisions against the Baltimore Orioles, the of the 25-59 record.
That means, 7 of his 11 wins came against the AL West and Baltimore.
Welcome to the All-Star team CC!
