Wow. This is fantastic. Scioscia would never have made the move, but Torii knows it's for the good of the team. For anyone questioning this move watch this.

I was so shocked at this. I knew Scioscia wouldn’t make the move this year, and not likely next year, without Hunter suggesting it first. I really do believe it was Torii’s idea. Love it.

Torii is one of the classiest players in all sports. I can’t imagine many 9x GG winners giving up the position they’ve played their whole career for a AAA August call up. Can’t wait to watch Bourjous roam center at Camden Yards.

Bourjos may not hit a thing, but his speed and defensive ability will translate into the big leagues.
Also, I feel like his quote about slapping pride in the face might be true of the team on the whole this season. Seasoned vets with near-HOF careers and young guys accustomed to winning should take that to heart.

and even though his OPS isn’t in line with the dollar amount, it’s this kind of attitude that justifies his salary.
Plus Torii is a better hitter than Darin Erstad, who was the last guy on the Angels to show this kind of leadership.
