Well, where do you begin. At least the Angel radio and T.V. guys will likely throw in the towel after this one. Whether Texas loses or not this season is over. Three weeks ago the Angels left on what the on air personalities called, "the most important road trip of the season". It was a make or break trip against the best teams in the American league, and they were trounced. Then the talking heads decided this trip was where they could make up ground. Playing against the worst teams in baseball they could go 10-2 and ...
Lets all face the facts, the Angles just don't have the horses to get it done. What the team now needs to do is not focus on winning and losing, but just playing good baseball. They are not a fun team to watch. As a matter of fact they have become very difficult to watch. They make errors on the bases, they don't hit with runners in scoring position and they can't relieve.
It's time to throw in the towel. Play the players at their positions. Kendrick at second Aybar at short, Callaspo at third and Napoli at first with Izturis roving. Move the outfield back to the way it was. The experiment is OVER! The Angels don't need to get back to "Angels" baseball, they don't need to shuffle the lineup to get a bat in, or rest a guy, they need to get back to baseball period.
This season is over, and the sooner they realize it the sooner they can get to playing baseball. What is meant by that is that they seem to be trying too hard to win, and in the process they continue to make bad plays, and bad managerial decisions.
This team just needs to take a deep breath, and try to enjoy the rest of the season, and the only way to do that is to at least play good baseball win or lose.
