Tacoma Rainiers Lose Via GRAND SLAM in 12!
Bees Win Again ... Tyler Chatwood, Winner ... Bees Now 1/2 Game Behind Tacoma
Hank Conger, Terry Evans, Mark Trumbo all homered tonight as the Bees rocked the Reno Aces 11-4 for their 5th straight win in their quest for the PCL North pennant. The entire Bees batting order raked over Aces' pitching to pull the Bees within 1/2 game of the Rainiers, each having only three games left to play in the regular season.
Tyler Chatwood performed admirably in his first AAA start, allowing 4 ER over 5.2 IP, 5 SO, 0 BB, achieving the win.
The Tacoma Rainiers lost to the Fresno Grizzlies 10-7 Friday evening by way of a WALK-OFF GRAND SLAM in the bottom of the 12th inning; it was their 3rd straight loss. The Rainiers had climbed ahead 7-6 by scoring on Mike Carp's 2nd HR of the game in the top of the inning.
Bees' Relief Pitchers Give Away Saturday Game 6-5. After taking the lead 5-4 in the bottom of the 6th, two seperate relief pitchers butchered pick off attempts, allowing the tying and winning runs to eventually score.
The Bees are now 1.5 games back with 2 games to play. Tacoma won their game against the Grizzlies 3-1.

Either my math is bad or someone forgot to play a game and wiped it off the schedule.
Bees back 1/2 game. Both team have 3 games left. At leadt they won’t need a playoff game to decide the winner.

I know what you mean. I noticed that a couple of days ago.
If you look at the websites of both SLC and Tacoma, and this STANDINGS page, we see that the sum of wins and losses is one game more for the Bees than for the Rainiers. This Bees “results” page suggests that there may have been rainouts back in April which possibly were not played. Same for the Rainiers…..
Neither team’s MiLB.com home page is quick to put up stories about the games from the night before. As of this minute, both sites supply box scores for those who know how to fish around for them, but no articles yet.
I'm torn on the idea of Salt Lake making the playoffs
It would be cool for someone in this organization to win something, but on the other hand, the further the Bees make it into the playoffs, the longer we have to wait for Trumbo and whoever else.
does it really matter?
Not trying to be a downer but I think I’d rather see them just play with their team through the playoffs then come up to the Majors. They will be here soon enough – let them have the great feeling of winning before they just get depressed at losing.
People will say bring them up so we win…no guarantees of that though. The majors is totally different than AAA ball and we all know that.
