Bourjos Leads MLB in Assists by Centerfielders !?!?!
Thought this was pretty cool. Now only if he can get that bat going...

Amazing.
100 less games, leading CFs in assists. That’s pretty epic… Am I reading that correctly?
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.
Yes, you are...
I was checking out his BB-REF site and I was baffled by that. I double checked and yep, NUMBER 1
dissenter, dubious and devil's advocate to blog monitors everywhere.

Yes, it is. And no, I'm not talking about Beltran.

the power of being an unknown
good for him, definitely premium with the glove
Somewhere, right now, Mickey Hatcher is ruining a swing.

Yeah...once he get's a rep. established, teams will be less likely to run on him...
…and reduce his possibility of future assists.
Yes this is important
Assists reflects an absence of scouting reports as much as it does ability. Vlad had very few assists when he had a reputation for a “cannon arm” – how many runs will Bourjos save based on the reputation he established in 2010 is hard to say but it will be at least a few.
Which would have the cascade effect
of making opposing base runners more conservative on the paths overall when Peter is fielding the ball. I have to wonder: does he throw so many guys out because he gets to the ball so quickly, or is his arm really that strong? Either way this motherflippin’ impressive.
In my limited observations (seen 3 or 4 of the assists)...
it is a perception that when the ball is headed to the gap you are thinking “no way can anybody get me out on a ball hit there…” sort of thing.
Pete’s arm is not that impressive, imho. What he does is get to the ball so quickly, then makes a solid, not spectacular, throw.
I love this team.

+1
Is there a games played limit? Either way I’m all for it… Guys like Chapman and Strasburg get all the hype these days, but if Bourjos played in the deadball ere, he’d be hyped for his D.
Great defensive plays are my favorite thing to see in baseball. So damn beautiful.
Any time you think you have the game conquered the game will turn around and punch you right in the nose.

True. Only MFY and Bosux and random *BIG NAME* FA's need apply for GG.

Call me a cheap date, but I'm happy with Bourjos' offense
.200 with some extra base power? Fine by me for his first 150 ABs. If he gets that out of the way and hits .250 next year, I’ll be thrilled.
Same here.
He is doing pretty decent and hes only getting better. His defence well makes up for it though

yah, thats what is encouraging, unlike with Wood. A lot of XBH's.

Sadly, whenever Wood came up to bat, I felt that it was a wasted at-bat
but when Bourjos steps up to the plate, I really feel he’s gonna make something happen. He truly is a bright spot on this otherwise tired team.
I meant the OTHER Howard!
I think the kid has potential with the bat
His swings are short and quick. Not a big guy, but strong enough to hit one out to center in Seattle.
