Awesome pics ... knew pattimelt would be in the middle of everything!
Thanks for sharing for us poor suckers who couldn’t be there.
I love this team.
What did you do if you had to pee, waiting that long?
What a shock to see local LA news stations covering anything about the Angels.
Napoli's 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th homers of the year (four more than Jeff Mathis' career total) rained down on Angel Stadium like knives from the ceiling.
I held it..
And it was VERY difficult.. They did have the restroom open at the Orangewood entrance if you wanted to walk that far..
I still can't get over Weaver's outfit...
Slacks and them some over-sized blue t-shirt tucked in? I guess his transition from “Bro” wear to being a multi-millionaire with class is still in transition mode.

I love it
It’s “Man, I gotta get dressed up? Well, I’ll wear these slack, and this shirt that feels nice.” Screw a suit and tie. Weave wears whatever the hell he wants.

Wanna good laugh??
It’s a GE x500 that I just bought not 2 months ago for $139 from Best Buy. It’s an off brand point and shoot with a 15x optical zoom that rocks.. It’s super easy to use, and I can’t wait to really use it when I go on the Fan Cruise at the end of January. I’ll know more about it’s limitations then, but so far, I have no complaints, and I REALLY like how cheap it was..
i was there it was epic!!!!! OMG great experience

So was I!
Where were you? I was by the team store and had a fairly shitty view. Didn’t matter though, it was awesome.

That is too cool.
We got there around 11 (my old man was late getting off of work). Regardless, it was such a cool moment. I have never been to a press conference before. I was the one in a Guerrero jersey fighting for real estate against a swarm of little leaguers.

I also got there around 11
Was there in a Santana jersey. Went with my wife and old man. Had the good fortune of being in LA for a wedding this weekend (I live in DC now).
Great event. It was tough to see, but so much energy and so much fun. Thanks for the pics, pattimelt.

I was there too.
Unfortunately, I quickly realized that my spot sucked. I was almost directly behind all of the TV cameras. Still, it was a great day, shook Dipoto’s hand, and i’m glad I went. And I was literally only 10 feet away from Pujols and CJ when Terry interviewed them.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
were you the guy I heard screaming, "yer killin' me cameraman!!"
I love this team.

I can't believe this..
I didn’t get to bed until after 11 last night, and then I was up at 340 and at the stadium by 430.. I just keep replaying today over and over and over and remembering more of what happened as I saw it, and not what the cameras recorded.. Seeing the look on Arte’s face 5000 people scream “Thank You Arte” and then do that stupid clap was priceless!! I know we all screamed and bitched when we got screwed with GMJ and Hillenbrand and everything, but Arte’s learned in the time he’s owned the team. He’s never been ashamed to admit that he’s a fan, too, and what we thought/still think were his mistakes was just a fan learning how to be the owner of a baseball team.
Anyway, I’m gonna TRY and go to sleep now.. it’s been a long ass day and I want to see if I am finally down from this exciting day!!!
Thanks for helping me attend the event vicariously.
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
From those of us on the other Coast, thanks for being our eyes at the event
This week has had me in a floaty world of deja vu, reminding me of that time in 2003 when the Angels unexpectedly signed Vlad when the world had figured Arte was done, following the signings of Colon, Guillen and Escobar. That single span of a few weeks took a team which was spiraling from a horrible 2003 season and gave it strut, swagger and renewed hope.
2011 was a damn sight better than 2003, but the idea that the rotation is flush, the offense has had a massive portion of Offense Helper served at the table, and the team is still without debt and capable of making more moves on the fly is just a great way to glide into Spring Training.

Good comparison
And 2004 could have been a title year if we hadn’t matched up against steroid row in the playoffs. Same with 2005, if not for Doug Eddings. I am excited for 2012.
