What Today was Supposed to Be
Today was supposed to be the day we sat in front of our computers grinding our teeth, hoping, swearing, praying and looking for updates (or lack thereof) regarding the worst offensive player in recent MLB history. We were going to find out if the new GM is actually in charge and if we should be excited about that. December 12th was supposed to be a big day. Thankfully, December 8th was much bigger.

what is and what should never be
And if I say to you tomorrow
Take my hand, child, come with me
It’s to a castle I will take you
Where what’s to be, they say will be
And catch the wind, see us spin
Sail away, leave the day
Way up high in the sky
and whoa the wind won’t blow, we really shouldn’t go
It only goes to show that you will be mine, by takin’ our time
Oooh, ho-whoa
And if you say to me tomorrow
Oh, what fun it all would be
then what’s to stop us, pretty baby
but what is and what should never be
And catch the wind, see us spin
Sail away, leave the day
Way up high in the sky
and whoa the wind won’t blow, we really shouldn’t go
It only goes to show that you will be mine, by takin’ our time
Oooh, ho-whoa
So if you wake up with the sunrise
and all your dreams are still as new
and happiness is what you need so bad
Well, girl, the answer live with you, yeah
And catch the wind, see us spin
Sail away, leave the day
Way up high in the sky
and whoa the wind won’t blow, we really shouldn’t go
It only goes to show that you will be mine, by takin’ our time
Oooh, ho-whoa

Thanks for the front page boost
We all had December 12th circled on our calendars for so long, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Just curious
What did Toronto do with Jeffy?
"NO Trout for you." -- Tony Reagins, 5/23/11
Just signed a contract for $1.5 million
So, some team was willing to trade us its best AAA starting pitcher for the privilege of paying Jeff Mathis $1.5 million to play Major League Baseball. Shows that at least one organization values Jeffy similarly than Mike Scioscia does.
1.5million
to catch once a week or maybe in extra innings, not throw anyone out, and hit under 0.200. Can I apply for that job?
Send your resume to the Angels care of Mike Scioscia. You'll fit right in.

12/8/11!!! What a day!

Smart move. How do you say "premium" in Canadian?
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Canadian premium will always be a mystery.
How can a nation provide us the joys of Enrico Pallazzo yet also curse us with Justin Bieber?

Call it sad or call it lucky
but i’m not even sure what Justin Bieber is famous for except maybe doing a commercial with Ozzy

I think its telling of the respect the baseball community has for Mike Sciosia's opinion of players

anyone see a reoccurring theme here?
The Jays let Napoli go last year and are now hanging on to Mathis, although not as their starter, but still its kinda weird since thats close to what the Halos did with the same pair.

1.5 million vs more (6?) millions...
I think they’d rather pay 1.5mill instead of the larger salary Naps was due…
I love this team.

I kind of feel like
We’ve all climbed out of a dark pit, into the light of a new day. Even though it’s seriously cold and drizzly outside (might snow tonight up here in the desert), there’s a beautiful dawn out there without the worst offensive player since the depletion of the rosters in WWII.
The Wikipedia entry for "Orange County" ...
lists the name of the Angels’ owner in 2005 as “Joey Deal” (under Sports Teams.) Anyone know how to fix this? Obviously, some sarcastic BoSox fan tampered with the entry.
If anyone remembers the movie North Dallas Forty
Mac Davis who played a fictionalized Don Meredith in the movie called his junk “John Henry”
Somehow it has always seemed relevant to me in regards to the Red Sox owner.
