Game of Thrones
transcends nerdiness.
Rev, if you have HBO, or know how to torrent, or actually buy dvds/blu-rays I highly highly highly recommend GoT. Its absolutely incredibly good.

Much better, but that's true for most adaptations
The HBO adaptation was very well done, in my opinion. There are a few nitpicks, of course, but they could have butchered it. Instead they did a great job.

Yeah
its much more micromanagement. The draft is significantly more involved, and the one who takes the time to delve into the stats the most and what trends they signify tend to do the best.
Our league is not for the faint of heart, is ultra competitive and is definitely not easy.
Thats why I love it.

I once won
a fantasy baseball league. I thought the league was going to get cancelled so I autodrafted, never set a lineup or rotation. Never made a trade or FA acquisition. Literally, nothing. Found out in the playoffs that the league was never cancelled and that I was going to win it all. By a large margin.
Never had that kind of luck w/ football or basketball tho’.
This makes me want to play.

Last year we went free to play because we were implementing new rule changes
and wanted to feel them out before we put too much money on it.
We have to have our annual winter meeting to vote on this year, whats your thoughts on it?

Of all my genre-nerd friends, I was the last to find out about The Song of Ice and Fire
I read Game of Thrones just in time to see the first season of the HBO series. I am currently on the fourth book, A Feast For Crows. It’s totally worth getting through the first 2,000 pages of the saga to get to the third book, A Storm of Swords, where author George RR Martin decides to really start messing with you. Martin is basically an overgrown version of the kid who sat in the back of math class drawing illustrations of monsters eviscerating his classmates. He’s kind of a literary bully. But so far it’s been worth it to go along on this ride of his.
By the way, I’m pretty certain of who John Snow’s mother is, but we won’t discuss something so spoilerific here, will we?
Like Phi says, find a way to watch the first episode of Game of Thrones. Just try that one out.
