Angels Winter Meetings Update
Since the Marlins signed Mark Buehrle earlier today, they're probably done using apostrophes.

Jon Hymen says Angels talking to Puhols to leaverage CJ Wilson
Napoli's 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th homers of the year (four more than Jeff Mathis' career total) rained down on Angel Stadium like knives from the ceiling.
10 x 22mil better than 8 x 27 mil
10 years, $22 million ($220 million total) is the same amount of money as 8 years, $27 million ($216 million total) with an extra two years for $2 million each, which is lower than the going rate for veterans nowadays.
Of course, I think both figures would be too high for anyone, including Pulous.

the money he’ll bring in, will pay for his contract

The leverage
Thing doesnt make sense to me. Wilson would just tell Angels go ahead sign Pujols, i’ll go to Miami. So something is going on because its taking to long.
Skirt steak, like you suggested
and beef ribs. I tried the teriyaki sauce and the Korean one that came in a package. Both great!
Work, and Little League
Little League is getting on us because of the success this tiny community is getting.
They want to make sure that we a legit in the way we run our League over here. Plus some of the new coaches think they know better then the board at the moment. So I have been cracking the whip on the miscreants to keep them in line. Can’t lose this job. So I power trip.
Good for you!
How many teams in your league/
Farm, Minor A, Minor B and Majors?
That’s what ours were called
T-Ball; Peewee; Minors; Majors; Juniors; Seniors
Right now only T-Ball(2 teams), Peewee(5/6), and Minors(6/7).
The rest will start up in the Spring. Only the Minors will be having their regular season. The other two will be in a TAD season.
Same shit..
different year. So far not seeing anything different. For once I’d like the Angels to just give the damn extra year if it means getting a deal done.

i agree with your disagree
if we are going to spend big money, we better make sure it’s a sure-fire talent. We don’t want another Big Splash around to tie down our payroll for years.
No, it's the Clip Show!
Screw it 6 years $378M for cj.
With a vesting option for years 7-17.
Potentially raise the deal to $768M.

Kendrys Morales Update
During his latest rehabilitation attempt Morales made the ill-fated decision to play some football.

I heard some burly guy signed with the Dolphins after watching Kazmir in the Dominion League?
So Napoli is going to play football now? I need a linkie…
I hope Pulous signs with us

Part of me hopes we sign him and part fears that we will and we’ll be sorry.
Hope for the best.
He has had two very good years in a band box.

Hawkins turns 39 this month.
He’s not good enough for high leverage situations. It better be a cheap deal.
by Fan Since 1981 on Dec 7, 2011 6:34 PM PST up reply actions
Hmmm 39 years old
Better be cheap and short term
No, it's the Clip Show!
One stat stands out
Among 160 MLB relief pitchers who pitched at least 40 innings in 2011, Hawkins had the 9th best GB% (61.7%). However it’s uncharacteristic for him (career rate is 47.1%).
Was his ability to generate ground balls in 2011 a fluke?

Hawkins was bothered by a sore shoulder for much of the season.
He eventually underwent surgery on his labrum and rotator cuff in August 2010.
by Fan Since 1981 on Dec 7, 2011 6:58 PM PST up reply actions
I'm guessing
that after the surgery, the mobility in his arm movement changed for the better.
Sign him for one season, and a team option. He’ll be better this year, than last.
meh
his k/9 rate is garbage
All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

I'm just as good as Fraudney.
I could go in and walk the first three batters I faced, too!
If the Halos don't care about the way they play, then why should I?
Don't do it C.J.!
C.J. Wilson could be ready to accept a six-year offer from the Marlins. The long-term commitment appeals to him and so does chance to hit
Just as he "could be" ready to accept an offer from the Pirates
Doesn’t mean it’s happening.
Still, worrisome.
Light up that halo! RIP, Nick.

40M more than what the Cardinals offered
Which was reported as 9 years, 220 million.

I don't necessarily read it that way
it could very easily mean the Angels have thrown out numbers, and are still 40mil short.
