Arte brings the hammer.
JeDi rings the bell!

Can we call him a Jedi any more?
We’ve joined the Dark Side of the Force, I’m calling him a Sith.
RIP Nick Adenhart 4/9/09
I blog about the Angels at First2Third.net
NERD!
He’s more of a grey JeDi anyway.

Heyman.
Anakin was no longer a Jedi after he killed all those sand people. And the nail in the coffin was slaughter all the padawan.
Dipoto killed all the St. Louis people by signing Puljos. And then Slaughtered the Rangers by signing Wilson.
We’re Sith.

Anakin was Jedi until he accepted the invitation to the Dark Side
Sure, he was down the path with the Sand People, but he was still both a member of the Order and believed in the Jedi Code.
Though I can get behind the Dipoto as a Sith thing:
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The PUJOLS shall free me.

I feel good about dipoto pulling in some young talent if he does some salary dumps a couple guys

It seems like he'll have very little leverage
Especially if he’s trading a 1b/OF type, since we have a million of those. And none of the ones we want to trade are very good, for a variety of reasons.
Torii Hunter seems like the most marketable, but he’s the one I’d most like to keep (for baseball and sentimental reasons).
Defending maligned chants since 2009
Torii has a no trade clause I think
he will be here till his contract runs out and I am fine with that.
CONGER, CONGER, CONGER !!!
Or maybe not....
Dknobler tweets: Angels are telling teams: We’re not trading anyone. They say Trumbo can DH, play 3B
by Striker2theLine on Dec 8, 2011 9:07 AM PST via mobile up reply actions
and they also said they were only going to spend $15-20 million
DiPoto is playing hardball and I like it.
I like that
Let’s keep the cheap young guys.
Holy crap - this is insane Matt!!!
How does this team win with this offense? Hey, anyone....DRAW A WALK!!!

So this is how a MFY fan feels...
Jeff Mathis 2005-2011. Never forget.
Lord have mercy.
I never thought I’d see a day like this.

looks like 5 years 77.5 million
still seems like a somewhat hometown discount

Texas and St. Louis
Just became our new minor league affiliates……muh-hahahahaha
Cool
I’m anxious to see the moves that are made after these two big signings.
"And is terrible at everything that matters." – Keith Law’s response to Lyle Spencer describing Jeff Mathis.
Does anybody else feel like Texas will for sure sign Fielder now?
Also, I can’t think today. I was worried I forgot my shoes when I got to work. Am I dreaming?

The Rangers message boards are crying. Napoli who?

OMG
Please wake me and tell me I’m not dreaming through red-colored glasses. Can we have Yu Darvish too? Greedy, I know … but Albert FREAKING Pujols and CJ! Holy shit!
Don't call me Bugs. Although Bugs Bunny could do it all on the baseball field.
Watching espn live interview with CJ.....
He confirmed both that playing close to home and playing with Pujols were deciding factors for him…
Wow Wow WOW
Arte wanted this kind of offseason last year, I think, but TR couldn’t pull it off. JeDi (love that) is a stud. He delivered BIG time.
Did Weaver take a discount to make this happen?
Does Torri take a massive paycut to be a 4th outfielder in 2013?
Who do they trade — Morales or Trumbo? (My bet is Trumbo.)
I used my f-bomb so I’ll end with “freakin’ sweet!”

If I'm Torii
I’d definitely take a pay cut to come back to this team. He was over payed when he got here, but could you imagine leaving this team, without a ring? He spent too much time to not walk away with the ring.

You know what this means?
Everyone who used to kind of think the Angels were okay are now going to hate us. Envy.

We'll take it, I think.

Do we get a discount if we order 1000 Pujols jerseys together?

Can you imagine...
On any given day Weaver, CJ, Ervin, or Haren starting. Pujols batting… and no Mathis!
We are living the dream!
I woke up in a great mood; I don't know what the hell happened.

So...
anyone like the idea…IDEA…of sending a package of Mark Trumbo Abreu to Cubs for Ramirez? Or am I just getting stupid&greedy..?

I wouldn't make that trade.
Ramirez is a free agent, so he would be under no obligation to come here if we went through with it.
Vernon Wells 2011 Stats (.218/.248/.412) and 2010 road stats (.224/.299/.400). The front office shouldn't have been surprised.
If i told you last year
that Mathis would be gone, we would have Wilson and freaking Albert Pujols what would have been your reaction?
by UCIHalo on Dec 8, 2011 9:41 AM PST up reply actions 1 recs
I'd say you are out of your mind... That would never happen!
With Albert, Jered, and CJ locked up for so long now. The next few years worth of free agents are going to want to play in angels red too. Can you imagine CJ this morning? “What? Albert Pujols is an Angel now? Yeah, I think I’ll do that too!”
I woke up in a great mood; I don't know what the hell happened.

holy crap!
I really thought wilson will take the most money and most years. It ended up being another way of Pujols helping the team – by luring an FA on his name alone. I mean, what’s a few less dollars and one year difference if you get to play in your hometown AND be teammates with a once-in-a-lifetime baseball player!!!
Prediction: Vernon Wells hits World Series winning HR, Tony Reagins claims full vindication.

I'll take it
Pujols driving in some runs earlier in the game makes a Wells walk-off in WS more likely!
Hanley
They need to trade Trumbo and Santana for Hanley….That would make this day better
NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Do not trade Santana
our rotation as of right now is freakin awesome and the Skanks and Sux are getting nervous.
CONGER, CONGER, CONGER !!!
aybar
and keep him at ss so he doesnt throw a fit?

Can someone post the Aybar freak-out GIF?
If the Halos don't care about the way they play, then why should I?
Hanley won't play 3rd
and he’s a dick. Not worth it.
