Indians @ Angels, 1PM GAME THREAD
"You know the only thing more pathetic than Indians on TV? Indians watching Indians on TV!"
Thomas Builds-the-Fire, Smoke SIgnals (1998)
While 99.8% of all male viewers between the ages of 20 - 49 are watching gym rats audition for gabillions of dollars as our future professional icons of the urban hipster athlete scene, the rest of us should be getting the weekend off from yardwork due to lawnmower rainouts, and can sit here on The Internets and following the never-ending auditions of Brandon Wood, Rich Thompson, and Reggie Willits. (My money is on Thompson, mostly because of options rules...)

I'm hoping Kazmir can maintain today.
So far so good. Go Halos!
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Guess everybody's watching the NCAA Tourney.
I’m switching between UCLA-Florida and the Halo game myself.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Typical - no called third strike and then a double.
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
But will it be "sigh"onara before he reaches his pitch limit?
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
Conger saves Kazmir.
I still don’t know what Kazmir’s problem is. Physical, mental…needs a hug?
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
I think it's a little bit of both.
I don’t think he’s injured, but he might be paranoid about getting injured, so he’s changed his style to try to stay healthy.
I think it's...
that he is not staying within his mechanics.
I love this team.

Just turned on the radio and heard we are down by 4.
Are the batters not swinging?
What the heck?

So what's the deal with Salmon?
do you think they are trying him out as a regular season color guy?
by Beat The Red Sux on Mar 19, 2011 2:05 PM PDT reply actions
Nah.
A ST fill in. Mota gets some time off and rather than make Terry work doubly hard, They give Salmon some mic time.

He needs to remember that even though Mathis is the "starter," he shouldn't be emulating him.
Especially his patented throw to center field.

Don't have a tv here in SoCal.
We’re living in a tiny cabin and we never felt like paying for cable or a tv. We do have the interrnet. We’re on the road right now, heading back to Blue Jay
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Have a sfe trip then.

Kazmir's take on today's outing
http://twitter.com/billplunkettocr/status/49230318909136896
Kazmir: “I felt good about that outing. There’s a lot of things I can take out of that start, just on how everything felt.”
More or less what his response will be after every 4 run, 5+ inning outing he'll have this year.
Which likely will be most of them.
Defensive Changes:
Pettit in LF
Andrew Heid in RF
Segura at SS
Amarista at 2nd(After a while off with a bruised heel)
Wilson has lost 200 points from his average the last few days.
Hope he gets his stroke back soon.
He'll be alright.
Small sample sizes can do that to averages.

The word babble came to mind while reading his piece.
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
Has anyone seen anything positive out of Wells this spring?
40+ PAs and only two extra-base hits, and flagging as we near the regular season — in a hitter-friendly environment, no less.
he seems like a nice enough guy.

This is the Bulger I remember.
Flashes of brilliance, then control problems, then a devastating XBH.
Lameday is still showing Buck hit by pitch
What has happened since then?
yup.

I want Salmon/Rojas to commentate all games
"Jeff Mathis is like Robb Quinlan without the sex appeal" - Sheisalovelyladyandmyapologiestoher
I just like his voice
It is seems soothing to me for some reason.
"Jeff Mathis is like Robb Quinlan without the sex appeal" - Sheisalovelyladyandmyapologiestoher
He's professional, just lacks personality for me.
I can take Gubicza’s inanities, because he has a personality — but that’s just me.
Rory, bless his eternal soul, was a perfect mix of professionalism and personality.
Hudler was the John Madden of baseball announcing.
You never knew what he was going to say next or how much sense it would make. One thing was always assured though – he would be enthusiastic while he said it.

I couldn't abide Hudler.
Madden at least could improvise. Hudler was like a doll with a pull-string and 20 canned phrases he would recycle every night.
Plus, he pitched his entire repartee to an imaginary eight year old in a 50s sitcom that needed nightly moral instruction to prevent him from stealing candy and ignoring his homework.
Too bad Bourjos got robbed earlier in the inning

I was hoping that an awesome spring from Conger could end Scioscia’s love for Mathis.

Meanwhile, Texas saying today they’re willing to eat $24M of Young’s contract to trade him for prospects.
Wood and Willits for Young and Napoli, har har!
We should throw in Todd Greene too.
Just to seal the deal.

At least it's only ST.
BOTG goes to Bulger in my opinion. We’ll get ’em next time.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Particularly disappointing because it was largely our opening day lineup.
All runs given up by three pitchers likely on the roster.
It's been pretty awesome so far.
I think folks are overlooking Kazmir’s four runs in the first three innings here.
And the fact that Bulger is a bubble pitcher that has never been guaranteed a roster spot.
