He can't hit for average, he can't hit for power, he doesn't take walks, and his fielding is below expected.
Other than that, nothing’s wrong with him.

Some people lead an easy life. Failure is overlooked, underperforming is rewarded. Accountability is deflected.
I think TR can relate to Vernon, which might explain us acquiring his contract.
Tony wants more Tonys. More Tonys makes Tony feel good about being Tony.
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.

I really hope this was just to get some laughs
because my answers would be everything and what isn’t wrong with him. The fact everything he is doing is below average and below Jeff Mathis it is very sad. We are seeing a decent ball player diminish before our eyes and we get the brick to the face of having to deal with the salary.
Thanks VW and thanks TR you are both lousy pieces of crap.
Bring on the OREO Line!
This article is by one of those Bill Jameses or sabermetric people

I think you're on to something
If Wells is worth $23M, then Mathis has got to be worth $25M! Sign him now!
Or not.

(( I make enough of them already about Wells ))

TAKE A PITCH!!
Knowwattamean, Vern?!

"Mike Scioscia?! Didn't you get radiation poisoning?"
"I sure did. And it gave me super managing powers!"
Moore fails to answer the question he posed.
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
I am confident his miscues in the field will outnumber his line drives this year
so far, it’s 8 – 3 miscues.
Somewhere, right now, Mickey Hatcher is ruining a swing.

Problem is: this is the wrong Wells
We got H.G. Wells instead.
He propelled himself into the future in this time machine, and doesn’t really know how to play baseball. Unfortunately, he’s just gonna get fatter too, and whiter.
let's see, the loyalist fans of the team he plays for
call him “king lousy” and actually root for him (publicly and privately) to fail every time he’s in the game. but he gets paid a ton of $ so none of what we say or think should affect him. so nothing’s wrong.
i’m hoping you turn it around Vernon….and quickly. and before i get lit up for this post just know i’m pissed at TR for making this acquisition out of desperation when we could’ve plugged in younger options ‘til we found the right solution. Also, even though it is a fans’ right, i don’t boo players of the team i root for. Mathis is making me think otherwise, however.

I've missed the part where people are rooting for him to fail.
I doubt there’s anyone here who WANTS him to fail, they’re just tired of seeing him fail.
Other than that, I agree with what you wrote.
People may not WANT him to fail,
but it always SOUNDS like most are rooting for him to fail, at least in the Game Day threads. Predictions of his failure are made before each at bat, and on the rare occasions when he gets a hit or walks, he is still criticized because of how much he was paid for the hit or walk. This is what it sounded to me that SCHalo was talking about.
I know everyone is frustrated, I am, too, but the negativity gets to be hard for me to read.
Here's what part of it is too
Fans here aren’t stupid and know that he’s not going to do well at a level that really helps this team. So him getting a cheap homer doesn’t really help the team, it just makes his playing time continue that much longer. If the guy is hitting 150 he will at some point be sent to the DL. If he’s hitting 210 though, he is in there every game practically based on Soth’s MO.
I would love for Vernon to be a contributing member of this team. As I don’t see it happening I’d rather he fail so epically that even Soth/Tony are forced to consider alternatives more often.
Vernon Well's Current Average = .167 Current # of outs = Don't ask him
TY Tony!
Notice my comments above below the fanshot link.
I love this team.

I dont know why you'd get lit up for that comment
He’s on our team so of course we want him to succeed, but it is frustrating watching him play.
At this point we would get better production out of Trout.
