Erick Aybar Reaches Franchise Milestone
On Sunday, Erick Aybar became the 39th Angel in club history to record 2,000 Plate Appearances as an Angel.
At 27, Aybar just became a veteran.
He ranks 41st in club history with 6.6 Wins Above Replacement. His Offensive WAR is actually at 6.8, tying him with Lance Parrish for 38th place in club history.
His .277 batting average is tied with Bobby Abreu and Juan Rivera for 23rd all time. Just ahead of him are David Eckstein and Torii Hunter tied for 21st place at .278
His 506 career hits are just behind Torii Hunter's 508 hits as an Angel for 36th place (Torii had 2,046 Plate Appearances under the Halo after play Sunday).
Aybar's 23 triples tie him with Gary Pettis for 11th all time in club history. His 62 stolen bases put him one ahead of Albie Pearson for 21st all time.
Top ten anyone? His 42 Sacrifices rank 10th in a tie with Chone Figgins - who took 4,075 Plate Appearances as an Angel to accrue that many.
So far a solid Angel career, playing at the peak of his physical vitality and still under club control thru the end of next season. Ladies and Gentlemen, Erick Aybar!

Congrats Aybar
I’ve always thought he has the physical tools and talent to be something special and have mostly enjoyed watching him play. Occassionally, his brain fails to function, but all in all I think he is among the better shortstops in the game today.
Aybar is one of the few things right with this team.
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.
Don't ask him to help you with the SAT...
otherwise, Aybar can play on my favorite team in the universe any day.
dissenter, dubious and devil's advocate to blog monitors everywhere.

I love players like Aybar.
The don’t sell a ton of jerseys and you never see them in the headlines. They just go to work everyday and produce at a major league level.
Official prediction: The Angels will win the AL west this season.
Aybars top ten..
ON my list, he’s definitely my favorite player right now because of his heart for the team…all the clutch hits and rallys he starts, and plus u gotta love the way he psychs people out on defense..
