So Conger is now a minor leaguer again, and from the way it sounds for the duration of the pennant race. OK. And Trumbo is a number 8 hitter, with a career .200 hitter behind him to stare at and waste his extra base hits. and Trout, an after thought in this critical series, a true confidence builder for the youngster. I mean really, is this good management of our young players? I can't see the logic. It reeks of desperation and confusion, and erases all confidence from the fan base as well as the players. The players can't say it out loud, as evidenced by Conger's humble 'thanks for the opportunity' and gracious acceptance of his demotion shows. I know one thing, if I'm preaching to my team the importance of this series, then suddenly rearrange the lineup and demoting players the day before, it shows everyone that you have no confidence with what you have. No team can win in those conditions. We may and probably will win the next 2 games of this series because of our dynamic duo, but sorry, this year is lost. and it's not the players....you can not make major changes 6 games after the all star game in your most important series and expect to win...this is mansgement'd wrong, Scioscia.
