I think not
You would be if you were a fan of one of these teams, but all you want is an entertaining game.
Let's see the Red Sox one-up the NYY three grand slam game.
"It is a haunted game in which every player is measured against the ghosts of all who have gone before."
What a joke. I'm supprized that they didn't do this sooner
but with all the homeruns they easily hit in NY the bases don’t get loaded that often.

i just don't want Verno getting idears ....

Except I have this unsettled feeling that the Rangers may take these three huge loses out on the Angels.
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
If Boston wins tonight,
we will have gained 5 games on the Cocaine Cowboys in exactly a week. Amazing.
RIP Nick Adenhart 4/9/09
Quintanilla up. .050 average. Must be getting hitting tips from VW and Jeffy.
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
Ogando is laboring in this game. Lots of pitches.
The second best part of this series is the way it’s wearing out tx pitching
Holy Shi.....................
I’d check on score earlier today and saw Oakland was ahead of the Yankees 7-2. Final score, A’s 9, Yankees….22!
I thought at first I was seeing the pitcher’s numbers that completed the game.
3 grand slams for the Yanks. I’ll never complain about our bullpen again.
Notice a trend?
C Pennington homered to right, J Willingham and D DeJesus scored.
R Martin homered to right.
R Cano homered to right, D Jeter, C Granderson and A Rodriguez scored.
R Martin homered to right, C Granderson, A Rodriguez and N Swisher scored.
S Sizemore homered to right.
C Granderson homered to right center, R Martin, E Nunez and B Gardner scored.
(For good measure, Chzburger Jones hit one to left).

When they were going for their third GS earlier in the game
Bases were loaded with Martin up. Martin hits a single to right with A Rod on second. ARod rounds third and after going more than halfway to home, returns back to third so the bases stay loaded. I like the way the Yankees keep the integrity of the game alive.

6-0 Boston keep piling on BoSux
This weekend series will be EPIC
Actually, that is one of the things I've always hated about Boston.
They aren’t satisfied with beating you 5-0, or 6-1. They want to beat you 13-2 or 12-0, or worse. They try to humilate people. It’s not very sportsman like. Sosh for instance would start pulling his starters when it is an eight or nine run lead in the 6th or 7th. Not Boston. They want to pour it on. Bastards.
I'm a bit concerne that a brutal beating/loss will make the Rangers good and mad !
As someone stated above they’ll be more intent on taking that anger out on the Angels. I’d almost rather have them coming into the weekend series fat and happy.
Please let Texas suck this much when we come

as long as we start Haren, Santana, and Weaver, in that order, we will be fine.
We can start pineiro and williams against seattle.
No Debbie Downers allowed on this game thread
Come on man, Boston is stomping Texas. What the hell more can you ask for in momentum?
Think about this, after us Texas has TB at home, then they get some more of the Red Sox in Fenway and then it’s back to the Trop for more TB….that’s a tough 12 games in itself not too mention you just played Boston for times prior….

Here's the way I see things right now...
…if this lead holds, even if we lose all 3 this weekend (BETTER…NOT…HAPPEN), we are 5 games back. That better than I could have expected a week ago.
Watching Texas get owned by Boston: Awesome.
Watching the Angels gain ground on Texas: Amazing.
Watching Texas lose ground on the Angels…..Priceless.
Considering the Angels have been winning a lot lately
I get more satisfaction watching Texas lose than watching the Angels win. That wont last long though.
I'm getting excited for this weekend series.
Who is pitching besides Haren and Santana?
I've got nothing.
hopefully... hopefully. just this once, we need santana and weaver to pitch on short rest.
We cant have a repeat of the texas series last week.
Oh yeah, they would both have to pitch on three days rest.
I’m not sure that’s the right move or not. I certainly don’t trust Jerome Williams, though.
I've got nothing.
Just this once... and then during the seattle/twins/seattle series coming up, we can let em rest up.
That 4-game series against the rangers last week just shows how quickly things can go wrong with a head-to-head series that goes downhill.
Have these guys ever pitched on three days rest before?
I thought I remember reading Weaver hasn’t.
It’s not an easy task, especially in Arlington.
I've got nothing.
So Saturday Santana, Sunday Weaver.
Is it confirmed, or just a rumor at this point?
I've got nothing.
sry that was poorly stated on my part.
He was asked why he took weaver out after 96 pitches, and he responded saying that it was possible he might start weave on sunday with three days rest.
The Soth is being evasive about it.
It’s almost like he’s trying to mess with Texas. At this time it’s just “TBD” for both Saturday and Sunday.

I actually heard Jose Mota on Angels Live
say that Sosh has done the 3 days rest routine with Bartolo, Lackey, and Kelvim in the past
but they have pitched on 4 days rest plenty of times.
Especially if they only go 5 or 6 innings deep. Better than having a rookie go out there for 2 and 1/3 gbefore getting pulled 6 runs later.
I don't like the idea of an Angel starter only going 5 or 6 innings.
There is nobody reliable enough.

Nobody reliable enough in the bullpen.
by Fan Since 1981 on Aug 25, 2011 6:43 PM PDT up reply actions
i agree. But id feel better about it than sending out chatwood, pineiro, or williams out for 2-3 innings.
then have our bullpen mop up the remaining 6.
For the month of September, I don't want either Pineiro or Chatwood to start.
Aaron Harang would be an improvement over those two.

I still don't hate the Rangers like I do Boston....
In this case it is necessary to root for the Sox to beat the Rangers, but in my gut I actually get pleasure seeing the Red Sox lose. I can’t say the same about the Rangers. With them it is simply the rational thing that it helps us.
Someone on this site...
…(don’t remember who) had said he would do much better away from Petco and NL, and then offered some stats to support that view. I thought he’d be better, but not THIS much better.
The players San Diego received:
Casey Kelly, Reymond Fuentes, Anthony Rizzo and Eric Patterson

We are only 1 game back in the loss column
If we take 2 of 3 this weekend, we will be even with them in the loss column. That is freaking incredible.
Indeed. I was thinking last Wed. night after the loss that the season was over..
Well, really we all were. We were talking about being put out of our misery etc..
Everyone thought it was over
And yet we still have 20 percent of the season left. These seasons are too long — so many emotional swings. That is one thing that Scioscia is incredible at. He never seems to get too high or too low. Always steady.
Agree. And another thing about Sosh...
He was patient…… I remember being pissed that he didn’t hold Haren back for the first game of the Texas series. I was thinking to myself; “wHAT THEY HELL ARE YOU DOING SOSH?” Well, seems he knew what he was doing. Maybe he realized that was the first of THREE MORE SERIES against them. Maybe he felt all along that this next series would be the pivotal one..
In any case, Sosh deserves alot of credit for maintaining his now well-known “ond game at a time” approach. Look where it has gotten us.
Agree with you completely
I just posted this on the other thread about Trumbo’s home run. Scioscia was saying a week ago that this could “turn in a heartbeat” and we just had to keep playing well. At the time, I had a fairly dismissive attitude, but damn, it really did turn in a heartbeat.
Enjoy
