STRIKE AUTHORIZED FOR ANGEL STADIUM FOOD WORKERS
Nice folks. Some of them are sooooooo SSSLLLLLOOOOOOWWWW. Ushers/Janitors/Ticket Sellers an Takers all authorized a strike and now the ARAMark employees have voted to follow suit. So if they all go on strike does it mean that we will get into games for free, sit where we want and have free food?

Doug Krikorian makes the case in the Long Beach Press Telegram
On this date in baseball history:
1985: Don Baylor of the New York Yankees set an American League record when he was hit by a pitch for the 190th time in his career. Baylor was struck by California Angels pitcher Kirk McCaskill in the first inning, breaking the old mark of 189 set by Minnie Minoso.
2000: Anaheim's Darin Erstad went 3-for-5 to reach 200 hits faster than any player in 65 years as the Angels defeated Toronto 9-4. Ducky Medwick of the St. Louis Cardinals did it in 131 games in 1935.

This pretty much sums up my feelings. I’m still pissed about last night, hungover, and didn’t go to work. Thank god I have a ton of sick leave/vacation days.

I just hope it comes down to those last three games...
It would be heartbreaking to watch them lose it, especially at Anaheim stadium But hey, at least the entire season was worth paying attention to. Thats more than most fans can say about their teams!

strikers.
work 80 days out of the year, for a few hours per day… and demand a wage increase and better healthcare.
Ok.
HOW ABOUT A FREE HOTDOG.
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.
Yeah no kidding. If they don't like it, don't work there.
I think it should be expected that if you work at that job, you’re not getting much but a bit of money and the enjoyment of knowing you work at a MLB stadium. If that’s not good enough for you, then move along. Plenty of others would probably dig it. It’s a part-time gig. Not a career.

Except that right now, a lot of people are relying on that for their livelihood
Most of them already work another job because that one’s not enough to make ends meet. I’d love to see them get better pay and benefits.
Defending maligned chants since 2009
Their "Summer time" livelihood? I'l like to see them all replaced by In-N-Out employees and college students.
did I mention that I hate ARAMark? Horrible company.

Would like to seethe employees more motivated to do a better job with the food and make better money doing so.

I'd like to see Aramark make better food. Then the employees would sell more

Could you imagine if Arte struck a deal with the In-N-Out people
and out one out in left field instead of the Rubys? 4×4s and Animal Fries would sell like cocaine.

Right? I bug my girlfriend about this every time we're at a game
It would be perfect because it represents Southern California so well. It’s famous even to people who live on the East Coast and have never even been to California.
Plus you got the great logo with the palm trees, woody cars, t-shirts: “angel stadium” addition, etc.
And you could place a great looking iconic neon In-N-Out arrow sigh right out in Left field next to the rock pile. …all that free advertising on televised games. It’s win-win for both organization.
And not to mention… WE WOULD GET TO EAT FREAKING IN-N-OUT AT ANGEL STADIUM!!!! The could sell double-doubles for 6 bucks a pop.

I think you mean $16 a pop.
Official prediction: The Angels will win the AL west this season.

Won't happen.
My understanding is that every store is owned by the family, and they maintain tight quality control.
I can’t see Arte giving up control of part of the stadium experience like that.
If the Halos don't care about the way they play, then why should I?
I'd be happy if they just stuck with Ruby's and used THE WHOLE DAMNED MENU!!!

Last night's game sucked. Such a bummer.
Because of that, it’s kind of a rough Monday, but I guess it could be worse…I could be at Burning Man right now.

The whole day down
When we keep drinking the kook-aid they keep serving, when does it cease being their fault?
Well, come see a fat old man some time!
Go back to hiring charity volunteers to serve the food.
Give them a cut of the revenue, motivating them to hustle in order to increase their take.
Limit them to those stands serving the traditional ballpark fare. And reduce those. And switch to premium suppliers.
Turn the balance of the stands over to local food houses and foodie trucks. Simply lease those pads and force them to deal with their own commissary, prep, etc. Then get out of their way.

Bobby Grich
“But he admits he still retains a sense of frustration about never appearing in a World Series.”
Well, Bobby, in all honesty, your shot at the WS was there for the taking. Bottom of the ninth, game tied, bases loaded and winning run at third, you at the plate. Base hit puts the Halos into the WS.
