Angels or Twins Cap? Torii Hunter on Cooperstown
Bert Blyleven pitched for the Angels and Twins and is wearing a Minnesota cap on his newly installed plaque in Cooperstown. He threw out the first pitch before the Halo-Twinkie contest Tuesday night in Anaheim. Earlier that day, reporter Dave Mayorga, aka Blast21Dave, got two minutes with Torii Hunter at Ralph's Market in Anaheim and got the Angels and Twins great to (reluctantly) confirm which cap he would wear if he is ever elected to the Hall of Fame.
Torii also spoke about his love of playing dominoes in the clubhouse and spoke on behalf of the Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams.
And the shout-out from the Hula Dula to our blog was just icing on the cake. But he really wanted us all to know about the Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams.
Pepsi MAX is giving fans the chance to vote for their 11 man dream team of baseball legends. For each ballot cast, fans are entered to win the chance to take on the fan selected Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams Team on their home turf next spring. Through August 31, baseball fans across the country can go to MLB.com/PepsiMAX to cast votes for their favorite players or can text PEPSIMAX to 41623 to receive
Fans have some challenging decisions facing them when voting for the Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams Team. The ballot is comprised of 30 MLB greats, three legendary players at each position (catcher, first base, second base, third base, short-stop, designated hitter, relief pitcher, starting pitcher and outfield), including Ken Griffey Jr., Ryne Sandberg, Cal Ripken Jr., Ozzie Smith, Greg Maddux, Tony Gwynn, Carlton Fisk, Dennis Eckersley, Rollie Fingers and Rickey Henderson, among others. So that's where Hula Dula comes from
Hula Dula the Domino Rula
Torii better hope they open a Dominoe's Hall of Fame.
I don’t think Cooperstown will be calling.
I've got nothing.
That's just because you're not counting the back-to-back WS Championships
in 2011 and 2012.

Nice interview. You kept the Dula happy by not getting controversial
Do you have any more footage of of them jeans?

I was wondering
is that a custom stitch job on the back pockets? Or is there a jean company that stitches the Big A logo on them?

they're 7 brand jeans and torii is rocking the true religions
I only know this because I grew up in south OC, and it’s a status symbol down there…
Jeff Mathis career: WAR = -2.3, oWAR = -1.5, dWAR = -0.8 , Jeff Mathis's bank account: $2,492,000.
Free Agency: 2013.
Still?
7 Brand and TR don’t push status in the LaLa like they did, say, 6-7 years ago…

Haha, I agree
Once I figured out that they all come out of the same sweatshop, I started buying the cheaper jeans!

Please don't tell Sosh and Lyle about this Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams team voting
They will start a write in campaign for Jeffy.
CONGER, CONGER, CONGER !!!
Yep based on how long he spent there
Though he has had his best offensive seasons with the Angels

Like he said, gotta win the WS in 2011.
2012 back-to-back would help too.

An Angels or Twins cap wouldn't matter much to me.
I’d be happy for Torii either way.
But I would hope for a Twins cap. :)

The interview better be good after this monumental build-up for it.
"It's our money," owner Arte Moreno said.
Great interview Dave...
Great to hear he would go in as an Angel if he was elected after we win it this year…

Shit happens
When you were told 10 mins to work with Torii but then it’s cut down to 2 mins and he shows up a half hour late.

It's impossible not to love Torii
Are the Yankees having a tribute to him next time we’re there?

No player has made laugh out loud more than Torii.
And no player has made me feel like I know him personally more than Torii. Quite an infectious personality.
