A Perfect Day Ruined

Fan since 82! Went to my first game at the stadium with my son. In championship round in fantasy baseball. Streamed in Pinero because I had a hunch. The A's lineup for the first time I've witnessed, had a lineup that from 1st to 9th, had a descending order of batting averages (from .302 to .167). The father-son bonding was strong. My son, who doesnt care for sports (Strictly Sci-Fi, comic books and such), was totally into it as I explained to him the nuances of the game. It was magical. Needless to say, after the final and as I sat in disbelief, my son, who had been an actual sports fan for the first time ever, said this, and I quote: 'Dad, the forces of evil have conspired against them'.

For a split second, I wanted to kick the shit out of him.

If so, well done, sir. Many members could learn a thing or two from you.

My daughter is not yet two, so she still doesn’t get the nuances of the game. When I’m pissed off beyond belief because of something Mathis or Wells did, I look over at her and she says with a big smile, “Go Onnles!” I just can’t bear to break it to her that, at this moment, they suck and HATE them!
