I missed 16 games this year.
I finished 10th. Playing the game every day makes a big difference. Two years ago I finished around 23rd (I think) and I didn’t play the first six weeks of the season.

That’s how our old Angels from the early 2000s used to play. Scoscia had even the middle of the order players do things like sacrifice bunt, hit to the other side of the infield, etc to move baserunners. I used to credit Sosh for that strategy but, when is the last time you saw Torii Hunter or Vernon Wells or even Mark Trumbo do that? Our team strategy has evolved a lot, and for the worse. Meanwhile Joe Madden does those things.

I remember how much we wanted Stoneman gone and what we called Reagins when he made his first trade: Ninja.
Just recently we were almost nostalgic about Stoneman for one great trade he made.

I was never hard on the get Stoneman out crowd
but it is pretty interesting how quickly things turned on Reagins. Hunter, Tex even Garland were all good moves at first. Haren later was a great move. But he couldn’t survive Kazimir and Wells.
I was a big Kotchman fan, bought his jersey 3 weeks before the trade
but with Morales as a back up plan it was a good move at the time
If Tex had stayed for more than a year I wouldn't gripe.

Well, the season ticket part, not losing Ryan. Always wanted to get season tickets for a year and have a bunch of baseball.
We had a new baby that year.
We bought the tickets with two other families, divvied them up at a party every year, and it was more games than we could handle, gave some games to a couple of friends, sold nearly half of the tickets, and still went to tons of games. It was great, except for finding a babysitter. She was born on March 16 so she was really young when the season started.

I heard interviews with all the managers and both starting pitchers for this game. But the most fun was hearing all the Boston fail talk. They were all saying that Wednesday night was the Greatest Day in Baseball History. They said it can never be matched for excitement. They played the game ending calls from both games by each teams announcers.
