He was never that great and the cliff is just around the corner.
Pass.
36 year old with declining fastball velocity and a K/9 that has dropped for 3 straight seasons(including a huge one all the way down to 5.4 in 2011).
And his agent has already said Cordero won’t consider any offers that don’t include him being THE closer.
If the price was right
I wouldn’t mind Cordero being the closer and Walden taking a year or two to perfect his slider and pitch placement….. howevere the world rarely works that way so this scenerio would never work
When I flip a coin I dont say heads or tails, I say Halos or Spurs
Please look at his BBRef page and reconsider your position
As MMP pointed out, his age and his numbers are both headed in the wrong direction. This would be an extremely risky signing and he may already be a worse pitcher than Walden. Plus the guy made $12.5 million last season (seriously!). Unless he agrees to a $10 million pay cut I don’t see how DiPo would even consider it.
As I said: if the price was right
I meant that to mean if he got paid what he was worth. Unfortunately he would never get paid what he is worth hence why I said that scenerio would never work
