Boras and Amaro, Jr: At Odds Over Madson Contract Offer
There's no doubt in my mind who I believe. Wonder if Madson thinks he's a winner, here?

On last night’s “HOT STOVE” on MLBNetwork, the “guys” were discussing whether Prince Fielder would get a 5-year contract. Someone said, “He should get a 5-year deal, but he won’t, because Baseball is sending the person that represents him a message”.
That might be collusion.
if so, Prince will get a King’s ransom
Well, come see a fat old man some time!
According to MLBNetwork "Intentionall Talk",
there’s a history with Boras and the Phillies that “sounds” as if it has not been pleasant. I haven’t followed the Phillies enough to know any of the details, but I’m not surprised to hear any of these quips after all these years….I’t like history repeating itself.
Mitch Williams seems to be making most of the insinuations. Others are straight men setting up his bluster.
Mitch Williams making negative insinuations?
No, I won’t believe that.

good luck to anyone trying to prove
that one of the most out of shape players in professional sports was discriminated against in not getting a long term contract. I’m not a lawyer, and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but I think that’d be pretty easy to contest as to why he didn’t get a long term deal.
Jim Bowden on Tony Reagins.
Style: Authoritative, brilliant baseball mind who works well in the trifecta with owner Arte Moreno and manager Mike Scioscia. Builds teams on pitching and defense up the middle. Active at trade deadlines, will trade prospects and has the resources to acquire All-Stars
I think what the Phillies did to Madson was pretty scummy.
You don’t back out of an agreement, then back out and instantly give even more money to another guy at the same position. It was a douche move.

I think you meant it was a passionate move. So much passion in Philly.

I wasn't privy to the contract negotiations
But as far as I can tell there is no good guy here.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Philly offered the 4/44 deal and Scott Boras, in order to get more money for his client, played hardball and rejected the offer causing Philly to look at other options and they decided that Pap would be a better fit for 50 mil than Madson would be for +44 mil. Maybe Scott Boras finally got busted for trying to hold out for the best deal longer than he should have and it ended up costing his client at least 3 million dollars this year and who knows what happens after this year?
However maybe Scott said “let me and Ryan talk it over, this is a big decision and we need to talk about it” at which point Philly decided well F-that we will pay pap more money and display no loyalty to Madson.
Again we don’t know what happened and I doubt we will so I reserve judgement on who the jerk was

Feel bad for Madson but Boras is a piece of shit.
Arte doesnt like him because of the past offseasons and how he steered the angels wrong
