Tim Lincecum Files for Arbitration
This didn't seem like new news so I apologize if everyone has already seen this, but there it was in today's Seattle Times.
"San Francisco Giants ace Tim Lincecum headed 142 players filing for arbitration Friday — and the former Washington Husky might get a record offer when figures are exchanged next week..."
Other players mentioned were Clayton Kershaw and Mike Napoli, to name two.

I wish we had him too
Weaver, Lincecum, Haren, Wilson, Santana would be a great rotation but the giants need to keep him and he seems to want to stay there or somewhere on the west coast.
CONGER, CONGER, CONGER !!!
Yes, what I was thinking.
And it’s dumb, I know, but I think how cool it would be to have a brunette Weaver.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
I understand what everyone is saying when you list those pitchers,
but I always get a little bothered by the fact that Williams (sometimes Santana) is tossed about like a second-class citizen.
I have really high hopes for Jerome Williams this year.

Meh on Williams..
He’s just another Matt Palmer, and Shane Loux. I expect a couple of nice starts, sprinkled in with a few blow outs.

I don’t see Palmer or Loux in Williams at all. He was great in his starts but struggles out of the pen.

I have a feeling Williams will be a beast

Well, Williams is a second class citizen and doesn't deserve to be mentioned with Weaver, Santana, and Wilson.
Sorry dude, but getting bent out of shape that nobody mentions jerome f’n williams with the big three is sort of odd.
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.

I'm with you on this
The #5 gets only about 22-25 starts per season. I believe Williams can bring it on at least 50% of those starts, probably more. 12-15 quality starts would be a huge contribution.
Really, getting through the 5th without allowing substantial damage is a big contribution for a #5.

I'm a big Santana fan, have always backed him and seen his improvement over the years
He has matured into a great pitcher who has only an occasional bad outing vs the very other outing in his rookie year. Jerome Williams could very well continue to have good outings this year but as long as he at least eats up innings and can keep us in the game by a run or two then I will be happy. I expect our pitchers to get a lot more run support this year.
CONGER, CONGER, CONGER !!!
They might lose him in free agency
I wonder if they haven’t made a solid multi-year offer because they still have Zito on the books and they want to put it off as long as possible. Otherwise, even though they call him ‘franchise’, going year-to-year on arbitration suggests they don’t think he’s worth long term huge money.
yes, him and kershaw
in fact, we will use a tractor beam to pull all the good players in CA to the angels

Still doesn't have a long term deal...
As you all have mentioned.
It’s baffling, for sure.
What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

That's cause SF can't afford to pay him market value.
It’s sad that he is such a huge deal in San Fran while it seems almost inevitable for him to leave, unless he gives them a discount.

With his making $13.1MM last year with another year of arbitration eligibility this year,
he’s gonna be way to expensive for our tastes when/if he becomes a free agent.
You can’t pay everybody that way. Somebody would have to go away.
I read that Texas is in no hurry to sign Naps to a longterm deal. They have other priorities. Fielder obviously being one.

While reading the paper, you DID NOTICE that MIKE LEACH introduced his coaching staff
over at WAZZU, didn’t you?
Electronic paper, so no I did not notice it.
This story was in a sidebar last night and I’m surprised I spotted it, but baseball stories usually catch my eye first.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
I'm a Cougar by marriage.
I am almost as excited about what is now about to happen with the WAZZU football team as I am about the Angels and my own alma mater.
Oh. I paid a little attention to both teams this year, but not much.
We’re both Cal Poly Pomona graduates, and football there was a joke, except for when we didn’t have it.
THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!
Football at WSU has been , unfortunately, a joke for almost a decade.
But now, with new coach Mike Leach, buckle up. Now that I’ve mentioned it, I’m sure you’ll feelsome of the excitement next season as you occasionally hear the noise in the Palouse.
About a year ago, knowing that there was growing unrest with the football situation in Pullman, I told my wife that WSU ought to hire Mike Leach as their coach. Lo, and Behold!
Yeah, we noticed them more this year than last
but we bought the house (in Woodinville) in late August and didn’t move in until October 3. We had our hands full, making the place habitable. 15 years of heavy cigarette smoking had left a terrific stench. She was smoking something awful, not my dad’s Chesterfields. The house was empty with the upstairs windows open for a year without a single offer, because it smelled so bad.
We tore out all of the perfectly good carpet (perfect except for the smell), and primed and painted just about every flat surface. When we took off the outlet plates there were cobwebs behind them that had turned brown from the smoke. We replaced all of the flooring except the bathrooms with hardwood floors.
The house was only 15 years old.

I think Doogie Weaver would be awesome in our rotation
