Well, judging by his agent's most recent comments, I'm not sure if Cordero would be worth it.
Bean Stringfellow, Cordero’s agent, wouldn’t comment on whether the Angels were looking at Cordero as a closer or as Jordan Walden’s setup man, reports DiGiovanna. Stringfellow called it “a delicate situation.”

Not another guy who "can't get up for non-save situations"
It’s the most pathetic excuse in the book and we just got rid of a guy who loved to use it.
The halos already have one of the best setup men in baseball
Scott Downs

Yup.
The more I think about this guy, the more confused I am. I’m not entirely sure why we’d be going after him.

Scott Downs really should be the closer.

maybe, but maybe not
Downs helped diffuse many high leverage situations where, without him, the Halos may have not even been in situations to let Walden blow it get the save

You know what "delicate situation" means?
It means Dipoto made it clear Walden hasn’t cemented his role as closer. Agents and GMs talk about that sort of thing, especially when it concerns the agent’s client.

I'm not gonna be mad at JeDi if we sign him...
…just disappointed. For this to be a JeDi quality signing, it’d have to be a 1 yr deal less than $4Million.
The Cons:
He’ll be 37 in May. Last year he had a .214 BABIP and a K/9 of 5.43(League Average 7.12) which screams batting practice for the opposing team. He did have a good BB/9 of 2.84 and HR/9 of 0.78. And to boot, Fangraphs had his worth at $600k compared to his $12 Million Salary.
The Pros:
Not named Fernando Rodney or Brian Fuentes.
I’d rather sign take a chance on Lidge, who had a K/9 of 10.71(10.25 in 2010) and a xFIP of 3.40.
you sound like my parents

I've never been high on Cordero.
I have no statistical basis with which to form this conclusion. I just don’t like him.
