Toronto takes a Bullet for the Angels, Signs Cordero
Still, they could do more to make up for the Wells trade.

I thought that we were even...
…Premium and all.

If Premium were making what VW's making, sure.
But he isn’t, and flipping Naps to Tejas totally sucked, so as far as i’m concerned, they still owe us.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE...
What a day! Fielder to Detroit and no Cordero
Just think, Cordero and Mathis would both be Angels if Reagins was still around.
Don't forget aramis ramirez
And the guttng of the team for david wright
Thank goodness arte got dipoto

So Alex Anthopoulos = Tony Reagins?
After all, both Cordero and Mathis are now Jays. And Alex traded Napoli, too.

Maybe its not the GM's
Maybe its Naps that is making them stupid. Afterall Jon Daniels did just sign an unproved pitcher for 11 million a year + an obscene reservation fee.

You guys act like Cordero is a shitty player
I’d prefer Walden to close too but it is not like Cordero wouldn’t have helped the team. His K rate has dropped but he still had value. He certainly would be better than any reliever on the team not named Walden or Downs.
CJ Wilson is OUR douche now!
But he wanted to close
So he was a bad fit for the team

Doesn't matter that he wanted that
There are zero closing jobs open in MLB
CJ Wilson is OUR douche now!
We're usually on the same side of the fence Ryanfea
But not on this one… Thompson, Takahashi, Cassevah, and Bell all had a better 2011 than Cordero.
Dan Haren, in 1 inning of relief last year, posted the same fWAR as Cordero.
Even in 2010 before Cordero’s K-rate plummeted all of the aforementioned guys posted a better FIP (in 2011) than Cordero did in 2010.
Cordero was very good in 2009, but then jump back one more year to 2008 and his FIP was 3.77. Again, higher than all of those guys listed.
He is (or will be) 37 this season with declining rates and has out-pitched our incumbents in only 1 of the previous 4 seasons.
Rodney 2.0
Yeah, I was swayed by his vanity stats earlier on.
But his 2011 peripherals are pretty bad. FIP and xFIP over 4.

Reagins once thought...
that Fernando Rodney would help this team. that turned out well.
Let's go get Brad Lidge and call it an offseason.

Madsen made the most sense.
