Kendrys Considering Retirement if Foot not healed
Pio Deportes reports this. Morales could retire if foot is not healed. He's tired of surgeries.
Off Topic- I got real itchy reading "pio". For those bilingual's out there reminded me of "piojos" (lice)

This can't possibly shock anyone
I’ve said it many times, Kendrys will never play another game in an Angels uniform.
CJ Wilson is OUR douche now!
Meh
I’m still cautiously optimistic with Morales…
But reading down the list of this guys tweets… He’s got a bunch of totally wack shit on there I haven’t seen ANYONE else report… Apparently we are going after Soria for Hellweg and perhaps another piece..
Oh, and we might be going after Adam LaRoche too?
WTF?
A case where he had to apologize for a totally false report..
I apologize to @Evan3Longoria and #Rays fans about the false rumor. I was told by a Rays source that he was unhappy with the situation in Tampa Bay. I now know to not trust that person when it comes to baseball talk. Thanks.
Yeah, odds of that are Zero
We don’t need anymore Outfielders or 1st basemen
CJ Wilson is OUR douche now!
got to take his tweets with a grain of salt
i follow him but rarely believe him. I could site his stuff all day but this one was too good to pass up. Interesting to note his tweet on signings always come first before all the major sources. take it for what you want.
Do you know how to grow dreads like Vlad?
shit that sticks
now theres an idea.. but your right. its entertaining to read his tweets. like if he was playing MLB the show… (damn i need a ps3)
Do you know how to grow dreads like Vlad?
He also reported that Amarista had been informed that he was headed to the Mets as part of a David Wright package, shortly before the Pujols signing
I think he deleted that though.
It definitely seems like he throws a lot of shit out there and hopes some of it turns out to be at least kind of true.

thats what he did with Pujols signing
Tweeted some numbers about the contract that weren’t even close to what he signed for and Angels happened to sign him a while later so he takes credit for it
PIO PIO they were shouting PIO PIO on the Downtown LA bus one day
and running from the seat of this skankee dreadlocked homeless woman who looked like a cross between Janis Joplin and a neandrathal. She just sat there and scratched as the bus emptied out onto 7th and Alameda except for her, me, the driver, two black guys who had gotten at the greyhound station and four asians.
Ten the vocabulary kicked in just as the bus started moving. It was a long three blocks until the next stop.
I always thought Pio Deportes was just DOV

Had a friend who broke ankle slind into 1st base
Mind you he didnt have the medical resources like athletes. But he did go through about 2 surgeries and was pain free. But he could never walk the same and kind of lost or forgot how to run. I guess sometimes it happens and foots can never be repaired.
Do you know how to grow dreads like Vlad?
he said out of reaction
and also that he didnt want to hurt his hand.. that kind of backfired on him
Do you know how to grow dreads like Vlad?
note the tweet about the Angels supposedly interested in Kotchman as a bench player
hmmm, maybe they don’t think Trumbo or Kendrys will be back? Or maybe, it is just a bad rumor.
In 2012, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Angel's First World Championship
I've said this before.
I shattered one ankle when I was 16, and the other when I was 17. I am now 55, and BOTH ankles are still effed up.
It. Never. Is. Right. Again.
The only way to get through it is by overcoming it mentally. A pro needs to be that strong.
P.S. – I have watched that video of his walk-off a hundred times, and I blame Aybar.

I don't have a personal anecdote, but I used to follow this guy back in the day because he was born in the same small, podunk town I was in SE Kansas.
He was a top guy in the state coming out of high school, amazing pitcher. I was really rooting for him, as were the whole town of 2500 people. Anyway, not long after graduating high school, he had an identical break as Kendrys eventually would have. That was it for him, never played again. Works in the town lumber yard or whatever, like straight out of a Bruce Springsteen song or something.

I hyperextended my knee about 16 years ago,
and it still bothers sometimes after I hike or turn on it funny.
Damn non-vascular tendons.

Shattered an ankle back in 2002.
Little loss of mobility (bunch of pins, etc)… Kendrys PT seems pretty horrible and his attitude for the past year and a half has been strange.
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.
So, the guy who's been imprisoned in his home country, then ultimately defected, is going to retire because of some pain?

Funny you should say that...
Somebody recently tweeted that they know the talent is still there but they doubt his work ethic.

Because he's made a lot of money already
He made over $2M on his first contract (plus a $3M bonus), with another $3M last season. Granted, that’s not “big money” to many players, and the government has taken quite a cut out of that already, but to a guy who floated across the ocean from Cuba to Florida with nothing to his name, it is most likely enough to live the rest of his life.
I’m sure Boras would strongly discourage Kendrys from retiring before signing a 2012 deal, and there is probably less than a kernel of truth to the story, but IF it is true is just doesn’t seem too far-fetched to me.

I'm not defending the truth of this guy's claim
I have no idea who the schmo on the other end of this Twitter account is.
All I’m saying is that it is conceivable that a guy who grew up in abject poverty could look at $5M earned (and maybe $1M to $2M on hand) and say," I could retire", if his desire to play wasn’t white-hot and his tolerance for post-op pain was low.

We still have Pujols, right?
"One time, when we got back to the locker room, all of our clothes were gone," Trout recalled. "They left me a Lady Gaga costume and I had to wear it."
God, you read about the second surgery....
Removing cysts, grafting bone? What did they use for the first procedure? A tack hammer, wrench, and shop rag? Then they left a busted half GI Joe action figure some kid left buried in a liter box in Kendrys leg?
It just sounds like they had to rebuild his ankle from that one time that they rebuilt and poisoned it or something. Mickey Hatcher = Ankle surgeon? Then have your cousin handle your rehab….
Anyone else get that last Jared Leto scene from Requiem For a Dream popin into your head?

At least his final major league at bat was a game-winning grand slam.
That’s pretty cool.
I've got nothing.
If there was ever a bright side this is it.

Bobby Abreu most be so happy he's shitting rainbows right now.

That's a fake twitter account
He just posts tons of stuff and hopes something sticks and calls himself an insider. He didn’t break the Pujols story.
I think the Angels going after Kotchman is an excellent idea.
The guy is basically the type of player that Abreu was when he was good only with less power, and less consistent although I know Casey’s case of mono really screwed him over. He had a 398 OBP against righties last year. If I was GM, I’d platoon him.
Against righties I would put Kotchman in at DH and against lefties I’d put in Wells and I’d start Trout EVERYDAY. You guys may well say we don’t need Casey because we have enough CI/OF’s. I say we have Pujos in his prime for a few more years and we go all out in those years. I don’t think we can risk having a lineup with Bobby in it anymore since he has almost no power, and Trumbo while he has power is an out machine and that was when he was healthy.
As for as Kendrys I have my sources I get to talk to every so often, and I’ll tell you guys, I know the Angels have never reallly been impressed with Kendrys’ work-ethic. I’d sign Kotchman in a heartbeat.

If the Angels are planning on putting Trout in a platoon
they are idiotic. If they are planning on playing Bobby against lefties they are idiotic (worse slugging vs them than Mathis’ career numbers), If they are planning on playing Vernon against righties……. or planning on Kendrys making a full recovery……. We have abs for a guy that mashes rhp even if he only plays the same position as a guy we just signed to a 10 year contract.

nope
I think he’s officially a citizen of the Dominican Republic.
That was the only way he could legally play in MLB.

Morales was awesome.
I have my doubts he’ll ever be as good as he was in 2009. But I’m not ready to write him off. Obviously if the pain is there, you can only do what you can do. I’d venture to guess Morales will be in a Halo Uniform playing DH before the All Star Game.
