Opening Day (April 1, 2013) is 91 days away. We are counting down the 100 Walk Off Home Runs in Angels franchise history. Today we look at #91...
June 3, 2007 - The Angels were behind the Orioles 3-2 on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Starter Jeremy Guthrie gave way to closer Chris Ray in the bottom of the ninth. Guthrie had given up a run in the bottom of the eighth, so this move was totally understandable, defensible, smart, by the book.
Chone Figgins led off the bottom of the ninth with a single and Vladimir Guerrero hit a 1-1 pitch into the seats. For one team it is never supposed to happen like that but for the other team It is always supposed to happen that way, right?
Final Score Angels 4, Orioles 3 in a game featuring the 91st Walkoff homerun in team history.
