Vernon Wells Reworked His Swing During the Offseason
Apparently, too blessed to be stressed was lost all last season and confused about who he was. He tried to hit a home run every at bat and messed himself all up. Now he changed his swing completely and has a load in his swing and is going to be amazing. Here's to hoping he is right.

I do credit him for trying
But usually when players talk about starting over in terms of their mechanics with a swing or pitch, it is not a sign of good things to come.
A load in his swing?
I can expect nothing less than Bautista-esk rise in production
"DOV all the way
Just compare the signature lines. Phi’s is terrible, just like his skidmark…errr…"mohawk". "
As a Lakers fan, I can totally respect Vernon for this.
At least he understands his own level of massive sucktitude and is putting in effort to fix it. Whether or not it pays off remains to be seen, but all you can do is try.
Metta World Peace, on the other hand, is a completely delusional fucktard who somehow believes he is still valuable to the team and deserves more playing time despite not being able to shoot, pass, or dribble worth a damn and despite his horrid decision making.
There are guys I play pickup ball with at the CSULB rec center who are better than MWP. I’m not even kidding.

shutdown D!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ron Ron is hanging on a thread because of that. And, well, the horrible contract that no team would ever take on.
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.

D and a lousy contract was pretty much Vernon's only contribution to the Halos last year
Remember: Schadenfreude is still Freude.
Uhhhhh, Vernon
judging by the way you stunk up the park last year in pretty much every at bat, I don’t think that load is in your swing.
CONGER, CONGER, CONGER !!!
i hope he
works on his range in lf too..your still shitty there too Vernon.
me and the wonder dog got high!

According to Dipoto, Vernon plays above average defense.
For all his inefficiencies, he’s actually fairly good defensively in LF.

So, this means he'll be popping out to 3rd more often?

Seriously,
why can’t we have a hitting coach like Rudy Jaramillo?

I hope he turns this thing around. Not really optimistic.
Willits? Check. Reagins? Check. Mathis? Check
Why does Vernon reworking his swing remind me of a skunk reworking his smell?
A wise man does not need advice and a fool won't take it.
We're all joking around about this, but how great would it be if Vernon had a MONSTER year in 2012?

I'm hoping he has a good year.
Vernon seems like a genuinely nice guy, he is putting in extra work, and confidence/comfort can go a long way. If he can just relax and try to hit doubles all day, he bounce back.
Since we can't have our annual story about Jeff Mathis's "new swing"
I guess we’ll have to settle for this. Keep loading up on that back leg, Vern.
