Great Profile on Dipoto
"It's more than a game to me," Dipoto said. "It's the constant in life. I have my family, I have my wife, I have my faith and I have baseball. That's kind of the standard."

"I'm going to go home," he said, "I'm going to get some real pants and I'm going to come to work."
All time great “I’m being forced to retire young” quote. It sounds silly, given his injury history, but this guy’s got so much more spine than the GMs I’ve been used to, Bavasi, Stoneman, Reagins, et al. He’s got a little of the bad ass in him and I am loving it. I mean, what +4 ERA middle reliever with an 8 year, no post season heroics career gets an entire team/organization at his retirement press conference? I mean it. What did he do in the clubhouse to be so universally respected and wanted in the front office?
I love this team, I love this blog, I will never doubt Arte again and I can't wait to see what happens this year. That is all.

I don't know, but I'm glad we have him on our squad.

Great article.
Alden is doing a great job on the main site. He captures Dipoto’s energy and enthusiasm well. I didn’t know much about the Jedi until a couple of months ago, but am very happy that he is leading the franchise.
Agreed on Gonzalez
I’m liking his writing so far. He’s got some good tweets, too, for all you Twatters out there.
It's so strange....
…. last year was sort of a fog of mediocre misery, with a couple sunny days like the Weaver contract. Now it’s like everything about this team got an upgrade; Reagins becomes JeDi, Mathis becomes CI, Joel Pinero become CJ Wilson. Mark Trumbo becomes Albert Pujols. Lyle Spencer becomes Alden Gonzalez. The communter train is trying to come to more games.
If we could just dump Buttercup…. I may start crying with joy.

I'm guessing Dipoto's faith is not Islam or Hindu.
"One time, when we got back to the locker room, all of our clothes were gone," Trout recalled. "They left me a Lady Gaga costume and I had to wear it."
He's a Jedi.
Duh.

Maybe it's just me, but I think his list is out of order
It should go as follows:
1) Baseball
2) Wife (if hot)
3) Faith
4) Kids
5) Wife (if not hot)
Where were you on December 8th, 2011 - Pujols Day?

I did say HIS list
As a GM of an MLB team, that seems reasonable, right? Of course, my list wouldn’t be the same.

Of course not
You know whether your wife is hot or not.

good article
But I would think someone of his intelligence wouldn’t put any stock in “faith”. It’s unfortunate that people still believe in junk like that.
Baseball blog.
Leave religion or lack-there-of out, please.

no problem
But i definitely think less of Mr. Dipoto now.
You are permitted to think less of me, as well.
Dear Texas: "One, two...........THREE!" The next number IS THREE!!!
add me into that as well
Thank you, Nick Adenhart. You will always be remembered. #34

That's fine
Because of his faith, he still thinks you’re great.

Good thing we're fans of the Angels.
DiPoto could believe in the voodoo magic of the seventh ring of Saturn for all I care, so long as he makes smart decisions and runs the club well.

Ok, real talk though..
I wanna see what he can do, with more restraint financially. We love this guy, becuase of Pujols, C.J., and for the Mathis trade. I’m curious to see, just how good he is. Doesn’t it seem like we over paid for Chris Iannetta? I really don’t know, how I really feel about Depoto. I am usually not a negative Nancy, but after TR… I’m traumatized!

The Ianetta trade seems straight up to me
Chatwood’s walk rate was atrocious. It was his ridiculous GB rate that kept his head above water. Not to mention the obvious immediate upgrade at catcher. They can let Conger hone his catching abilities in SLC this year, or have him backup CI and send Wilson down.

Of Maicer and Men's letter is mentioned
He’s uncommonly nice. He’ll often respond to fans’ questions and outlandish trade requests with hand-written letters

I'm keen on any GM who replies with hand-written letters.
As for TR, he needs to include some taco’s though.
