2012 Angels Fantasy Picks
Don Miller stopped by my office this afternoon and I took the opportunity to get some on camera comments and exclusive fantasy advice for Angels fans. He makes some big (but totally conceivable) predictions about two big Angels (Albert Pujols and Jered Weaver) and has a sleeper pick for your bullpen.
Would you bet the farm on what he says here?

I'd bet the farm...
I’d try and take Pujols 1st due to the hype around him people don’t realize how much value he really does have this year. That shorter left field wall and the warm weather can bring out 50 hr.
I’d try and take Weaver 5th tho, he’s way underrated because of being a fly ball pitcher, but ppl forget 2 years ago…
Having a dilemma tho, Pujols and Weav? or Kemp and Kershaw? Im definitely not a trolley fan, but Fantasy has to be unbiased to some extent.
Why not all 4?
Don’t be scared.

Wilson is ranked higher than Weaver in a lot preseason fantasy rankings...
… many writers are citing an unsustainable BABIP from Weaver and C.J getting much better defense and ball park factors. Lots fantasy writers have Weaver ranked pretty low actually. I don’t think he’ll fall in drafts mainly due to last season. I’m targeting Haren for sure. He puts up ace numbers but falls lower than most fantasy aces. Same with Kendrick, not the sexiest pick for your 2nd baseman but puts up near elite fantasy stats. Plus many are loving the what our lineup additions could do for the quality of pitches he’ll see.
So yeah, Pujols is obvious. Would love Haren or CJ, and I’ll see if I can nab Kendrick or Morales in a decent round. I’m doing my very first auction style draft this year too so it will be a very interesting year. Any advice on auction strategies are welcomed and appreciated. This is a mixed, 12 team, h2h points league. Cool thing about it is that its a keeper league also. We can keep players into next season for $3 more than we paid for them the year prior. So getting good sleeper for cheap will obviously help in winning but also set us up nicely for next year as well. Good luck to everyone this year!

Busch is one of the most "pitcher friendly" parks.
Angels stadium one of the most neutral parks.
Unlike this cat, my love for the LAA will never die.
"Most neutral"
Not sure how I feel about that.

As far as not favoring the pircher or the hitter.
It’s gotta account for him hitting a few more per year for us.
Unlike this cat, my love for the LAA will never die.
They're actually both about equally stingy with home run totals
Angel Stadium makes most of it back on doubles, though.
Thats because Angels aren't a Yankee HR hitting team..
We’re a team based on Pitching and Defense which is why our HR totals aren’t that great over the years, but if you look at the pretty warm Weather and low altitude combined with a low left field wall, were pretty good park for a HR team.
That’s why I never got why people gave Weaver no credit because they thought Anaheim was a pitcher’s park, it’s not that biased to pitchers.
You realize he averages 42 per season, right?
Seriously, I don’t think some of us realize who we’ve got here.
