Dan Haren #24 of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitches during the second inning against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field.
Final Score in Cleveland: Angels 2, Indians 1
The Angels' woes on offense have forced their starting pitchers to be close to perfect, and today Dan Haren delivered. Aside from a run-scoring single by Kendrys Morales in the first inning and a solo Torii Hunter home run in the 4th, the Angels could only manage a few scattered hits off Indians starter Jeanmar Gomez. Scott Downs secured his first save of the season for the Angels after being named closer yesterday, and the Angels won their first 1-run game this year.
