CJ Wilson and Torii Hunter Make Twin Pillars of Victory, Topping Twins 4-3

CJ Wilson Launched the USS Los Angeles Angels off onto their newest home stand with a tough 7.1 innings of pitching, and partnered up with Torii Hunter and 3 RBI's to defeat the Minnesota Twins 4-3. THe Winning run coming off a late inning Chris Iannetta game-winning, inusrance generating, solo home run shot. Take THAT, Premium!!!

The Halos ripped off 8 hits (nice), including the first hit of the 2012 campaign for young Mike Trout, and a 3 for 4 night for Kendrys Morales.

Meanwhile, Howie Kendrick continues to frustrate the crap out of Halo fans everywhere and seriously needs to take a chill pill. Three trips to the plate. 6 pitches seen. Swung at 5 of those in what looked like a real hurry to hit the showers. (For the record, he made contact 4 times on those 5 swings, with 1 foul ball and three field outs.)

Up on the mound, the old Mike Scioscia formula needed very little teaking to come roaring in for the victory. CJ Wilson pitched 7.1 before running out of gas and surrendering 2 runs. LaTroy Hawkins came in and lost one of the inherited runners while gathering one out. But Scott Downs then arrived and Minnesota stopped right there. Downs took the final 4 outs across 5 batters and closed the night to light up the Halo! Note the free use of Downs for more than 4 pitches!! Note the willingness to use his closer for FOUR outs!!! Sweet.
