2012 will be the 8th season on the 25-Man Angels roster for the Mice Man Maicer Izturis!
The Angels took advantage of a strategically placed off-day after the 2012 season's first four games to carry an extra infielder in place of a fifth starter. The team will not need a fifth arm in the rotation until Sunday, April 15 in the Bronx (with Halos Heaven's own Moondoggy in attendance!) against the Yankees.
Until then, here is the team's 25-Man roster - the players who will be standing on the pregame chalk lines prior to action against the Kansas City Royals. None of the following players are making their major league debut but five of whom are making their Angels debut.
TWO Catchers:
Chris Iannetta, Bobby Wilson
TWO DHs:
Bobby Abreu, Kendrys Morales
THREE Outfielders:
Vernon Wells (LF), Peter Bourjos (CF), Torii Hunter (RF)
FOUR Starters:
Jered Weaver, Dan Haren, Ervin Santana, C.J. Wilson
SEVEN Infielders:
Albert Pujols (1B), Howie Kendrick (2B), Erick Aybar (SS), Mark Trumbo (3B), Maicer Izturis, Alexi Amarista, Alberto Callaspo
SEVEN Relievers:
Jordan Walden (CL), Scott Downs, LaTroy Hawkins, Rich Thompson, Kevin Jepsen, Hisanori Takahashi, Jason Isringhausen
