Final Score in Arlington: Angels 3, Rangers 10
The Angels lost to the Texas Rangers is a rain-marred game that underscored just how deep is the hole this team has dug. Every flaw in this team was magnified. Every challenge was unmet. The highlight of the night ended the game: Maicer Izturis grounded into a double play to prevent Albert Pujols from stepping to the plate with a chance to go 0 for 5.Pujols has fallen off a career-ending Andruw Jones cliff. He is not the same player in any capacity. Better living without chemistry? Hardly.
The Angels chose to protect their investment in C.J. Wilson and bring in Jerome Williams in an emergency capacity after an extended first inning rain delay. Water fell from the sky and melted the Angels. They looked as lost and terrible as the Angels teams that regularly handed games to the Ivan Rodriguez Rangers of the 1990s. The Angels that won three consecutive division titles have left the building. And wasn't it a strange way down...
Why do you build us up, Arte-Cup baby just to let us down?
