So I am pretty bored at work and I've been thinking about writing a letter to Tim Mead or whoever is in charge of the Fan Experiences at Angel Stadium because I am really tired that this always happens when I go to Angel Stadium. I've been a fan for about 12 years now as I used to root for both the Dodgers and the Angels (raised in downtown LA) but I finally decided to just stick to a team and chose the Angels. My first game was in June of 2004 when the Cubs went to Angel Stadium and I must admit I had a great time. Flashfowarding to the present, I attend around 25-30 games a year just because I am that devoted to being an Angel fan (and I always get great prices). On the downside, in my personal opinion, Angel games are the most boring baseball games that I have ever been to but I really don't think it is the fans fault.
I decided to look up the Angels P.A. and his name was David Courtney and my god, I have no idea how he's been the P.A. for the longest time with the Angels because he absolutely sucks in my opinion. For one, he doesn't play any traditional baseball music to pump the fans up and when he does, it's only for a couple of seconds. I mean there is no excitement when it comes to Angel games guys. The first thing everybody will tell me why they don't go to Angel games is because they are boring. Being honest, I prefer going to Dodger games a lot more because they are exciting and its not because of the actual baseball that is being played, but it's because their P.A. actually makes an effort to have fans contribute. That's also the reason why I go watch the Angels play the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. I've seen the Angels play at New York, Oakland, San Francisco, and Baltimore (San Diego this weekend) and they have been a lot more fun over there than at Angel Stadium.
I also noticed that Courtney is the P.A. for the Clippers and when you compare Laker games to Clipper games, you can't. Laker games are extremely exciting and Clipper games are boring as hell. I mean, this guy just doesn't do anything to excite the fans. All he does is put "Lets go Angels" on the scoreboard in hopes of exciting the fans but it's not going to work in my opinion without proper music. The way I grew up going to baseball games was music being played so that the fans could get pumped up, but this guy just doesn't do any of that.
So what do you guys think, are you guys on board with my opinion? I'm definitely open to any criticism you guys may have.
