Angels Still Not Looking to Move Bourjos

The Los Angeles Angels are still not looking to move outfielder Peter Bourjos despite his relegation to a bench role, reports Trey Scott of MLB.com.

The 25-year-old Bourjos, who started 138 games in center field for the Halos last season, has been tied to trade rumors since spring training due to the team's logjam in the outfield. Though Bourjos has seen most of his recent playing time as a defensive replacement, taking over for Mark Trumbo in the late innings in six of the last nine games, the Angels have been steadfast in their position that Bourjos is not on the trading block.

After a very productive .271/.327/.438 season in 2011 worth 4.3 fWAR, Bourjos is hitting just .219/.276/.281 in 46 games this year but still plays a stellar center field.

No one can really blame Scioscia for playing the team's three most productive offensive players -- Mike Trout, Mark Trumbo and Torii Hunter -- over the speedy center fielder, but things will likely only get worse for Bourjos when Vernon Wells returns from the DL in August.
