I source myself in this report. In some sad news, Vladimir Guerrero has decided that his time with Toronto is done and likely his career. After tonight's (yesterday) Las Vegas 51's game, Vladimir Guerrero left the team. Indications from management and Vladdy, it seemed like he was not going to get an opportunity that he wanted with the big league team anytime soon. He could announce his retirement in the coming days. However I would not say he is officially done. If the chance with a Major League team were to come up, he would certainly jump at it. But for now, it seems the amazing career of a former Angel is coming to a close.
UPDATE:
It is offiicial, the Blue Jays have agreed to release Vladimir Guerrero. However his Agent stresses that Vlad will not retire (per Ken Rosenthal and Jon Heyman). Its obvious he wants to play. I don't see the opportunities for him elsewhere though. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere with a big league club, but it seems remote that a team would be willing to sign him.
