Halos Add Indians Castoff for Outfield Depth
The Indians selected Crowe in the first round, 14th overall, of the 2005 MLB Draft. Once considered one of the game’s top prospects, Crowe made his major league debut with the Indians in 2009 when he posted an OPS of .611 over 183 at-bats.
Crowe’s most extensive stretch with the Tribe came the next season, when he tallied 24 doubles and two home runs over 442 at-bats, good for an OPS of .634. Crowe then missed most of the 2011 season due to a shoulder injury.
The 28-year-old had yet to appear for the Indians this season, spending the first half of the year between Double- and Triple-A. Over 151 at-bats Crowe maintained an OPS of .723.
Crowe will join the Angels’ Triple-A affiliate in Salt Lake, according to Eddy.
