Final Score: Angels 11 Royals 6

The outcome was never in doubt.

It is always nice to write about T-N-T homering, and today it was slightly different version of the Angels offensive dynamite powering a win. Mike Trout and Torii Hunter hit back to back homeruns late in the game to put an exclamation point on a big win over KC. Jered Weaver struck out 8 batters in 5 innings pitched to get his thirteenth win of the season. Weav allowed two runs a foulpole hugging blast from Billy Butler.

The big hit of the day was... well there were just so many to choose from. Albert Pujols missed only his second game of the season, having fouled a ball off of his elbow last night. With Torii Hunter DHing because of a sore side the banged up Halos could be forgiven for having limped through a midweek matinee. But they came out with the big guns, Weaver striking out two in the top of the first and a Mike Torut leadoff double leading to a three run frame.

Luke Hochevar was laughably inadequate on the mound and beaned Trout in pouting bitchiness, a rejected prom date tantrum for which he was ejected. Bobby Wilson hit a homerun, it got that crazy. Alberto Callaspo was 3 for 4 with two doubles, Hunter was 4 for 5 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored and trout got his batting average back up two .356 with a 2 for 4 afternoon.

At 54 - 45 the Angels have a day off Thursday and can avoid the rioting in Anaheim tonight and tomorrow. They welcome Tampa Bay in for three over the weekend, skipping Ervin Santana's turn in the rotation along the way.
